Karl Rove Flips Out At Protesters: ‘Who Gave You The Right To Occupy America?'

ProudProgressive 2011/11/17 01:16:54
It's called the BILL OF RIGHTS, Karl. We've already known for a long time that Karl Rove has less respect for the Constitution of the United States as a Mets fan has for the New York Yankees, but it's somewhat surprising to learn that he doesn't even know about the Bill of Rights.

Karl Rove Flips Out At Protesters: ‘Who Gave You The Right To Occupy America?'
By Zaid Jilani
Nov 16, 2011

Last night, former Bush official Karl Rove appeared at Johns Hopkins University to speak as a part of the annual Milton S. Eisenhower Symposium. Rove soon discovered that he wasn't going to deliver his right-wing rhetoric unopposed, as a cry of "Mic Check!" rang out among the audience.

"Karl Rove is the architect of Occupy Iraq, the architect of Occupy Afghanistan!" yelled the demonstrators. Occupy Baltimore had infiltrated the crowd and began chanting against Rove. "Who gave you the right to occupy America?" asked Rove to the protesters, apparently unaware of the Bill of Rights. As they repeated their slogan, "We are the 99 percent!" Rove petulantly responded, "No you're not!" He snidely added, "You wanna keep jumping up and yelling that you're the 99 percent? How presumptuous and arrogant can you think are!" Watch Occupy Baltimore confront Rove:

I'm no fan of Rove, but the "occupiers" behavior is rude, crude, and socially unacceptable. In many cases it's simply criminal. Apparently some are prepared to be arrested for some serious crimes very soon.

How dare these unwashed cretins infringe upon this good man's right to free speech!

Karl Rove is no stranger to spitting on the freedoms of our United States. No wonder he is having a meltdown. I am sure he thought with all the laws he has had his puppets pass this type of freedom was long gone to protest. SURPRISE!!!!!

As an American you have the right to protest, But it should be done in a peaceful manner.

Thank you 0bama for making America a more divisive and hateful place to live.
Your minions and thugs are working overtime to do as you ask, be angry, get in their face, bring a knife, etc.
OWS is an arm of the Obama administration, otherwise they'd be focusing on the true target of theft, fraud and corruption. Washington DC

I'm curious how you made the leap to saying that OWS is an arm of the Obama administration....

Here is my connection: The One Nation rally, had the same sponsors and the same people who endorse the OWS.
Check out youtube to see those in attendance, they fly the same flag that our POTUS used during his Senate run. He also was a member of SDS and he was a socialist party candidate in 1996 for his state rep position.
As a former democrat I know that these are the same group of people who register democrat; communists, socialists, anarchists, NBPP, etc
If these people really want change then they would be targeting the proper people: politicians. Those politicians are the ones who declared that Wall St did nothing illegal, they would know, they wrote the rules!
How many millionaire politicians does it take to shut down OWS? None, they want people angry and in your face and viola, they got it. Great distraction while they stick their dirty hands in the American taxpayers wallets.
I'm so happy that so many of these traitors endorsed OWS publically, they now own the troubles that are in every OWS city.
Philly taxpayers's tab is over $500k, not counting lost business, court costs, lost tourism, legal advice, fumigation, and the delay of a major construction site that should be providing good jobs for our citizens.

I know the cult of Obamabots will continue to ignore the facts surrounding their messiah. That is what happens when you are in a cult.
Fortunately millions of Americans are awake and see the error they voted for and they will not vote for him again.
Look at his record (I know excuses for Obama are never ending but here are the facts)
    obamas economic record

To my I thinking they ought to do this when the President talks. I am sure that anyone who would do this would surely be arrest and removed. It should be no different when others are speaking. This is totally disrespectful and if you do not see this then there is something a wrong with you. There was time set aside for them to speak their minds. They should have waited for that time. I do agree that some the wages of many of the people on wall street is way out of line and I do not mind the people showing their disagreement with the way things are especially with what is going on. Outlandish wages going to the very people that drove our institution bankrupt. A lot of them should be in jail. I also did not like the fact that we went into Iraq.

    But this behavior is unacceptable.

Sorry to say this but I agree 100% and wish the best to those who are stuck there.
My parents drove across country to live in the sunshine, they wound up in Oakland. Thankfully, they left for my sake one year later, 1969.

Damn shame for NYC too, I planned to spend this weekend there, but no thanks. I'll keep my money local and stay safe, thanks to occupy the subway actions.

As of last night our local news reported that Philadelphia's bill for the occpuation has reached over $500k and that is not including the lost wages from businesses hurt by the movement.
The hotel industry in the 4 block area of the camps are empty and offering deals of $50 per night instead of the $300 they'd normally charge. The restaurants and shops are hurting too. No wait lists or lines.

These idiotic protestors are wasting their time with Rove, when both Clinton and Obama have supported the same policies and theories about Iraq, Afganistan and Saddam Hussein.
That's old news, why aren't they paying closer attention to who is doing what NOW?

OWS members are targeting those who do not join their group, harrassing those who are attempting to get to work. They think anyone who does not join them is against them.
If you listen to the speakers of these events they say they don't even support the middle class, it's not just the 1% they want destroyed.

Rove should shut up and go home. The right of the people to speak up against and defend the country against all "enemy's, both foreign and domestic" is the most important right that Rove seems to forget.
Protest has been an American tradition since before there was an America. Rove sounds like the corporate big wigs of the 1960's complaining about "those long haired hippies". He forgets about the Boston Tea Party protesters, or the "Hooverville" of the 1930's.
Just another right wing "I have mine, so do as I say and not as I do."
All protests are peaceful until the "man" tries to stop them.

I think he was referring to the fact that they have to right to "peacefully" protest. OWS has been anything but peaceful. "Occupy" Iraq and "Ocuppy" Afganistan were wars. Is the OWS now saying they are at war with America? Maybe now they should be treated as an occupying enemy force and dealt with militarily.
