The Department of Justice is telling Congress that it won't prosecute Attorney General Eric Holder for contempt of Congress over his decision to withhold information about the "Fast and Furious" gun-tracking operation.

This was a partisan witch-hunt from the start. Rep. Issa is leading a mob, with pitch forks and torches. He is a disgrace to the United States Congress. He and Newt are cut from the very same pointed, white cloth.

Holder is the Justice Department. Justice will not do anything. Even a civil case will fail to have any meaningful impact within a reasonable time frame. Holder will walk and the wall of shame gets higher and higher with every insult pulled on us by this administration.

These "Contempt Citations" are never prosecuted. Were they to be prosecuted, those outstanding against Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Donald Rumsfeld, and Connie Rice would be first in order to bring to Court. There probably are at least a dozen in the drawer labeled "Things Not To Do". Just politics, disgusting and media grabbing politicts by an unimportant Committee and Representative.

I don't know what you mean by BIRTHER as it pertains to the U.S. Boarder Patrol. The comment was "Maybe they can't. Need a crime first". I simply pointed out that a murder was committed with a gun that has been traced back to the batch originating with the failed Fast and Furious project. At times this site becomes combative and is hostile. I find myself being drawn into it at times and i did not intend on down-playing the loss of life. This unfortunate tragedy has been used as a wedge issue that has been exploited by some of your links and others for political purposes, intended to divide people such as ourselves as a distraction that encourages disrespect. I'm sure there are many questions arising from the incident that is currently under investigation as it may potentially require international sensitivity. Some information is guarded and privileged for legal and other obvious reasons that we may not be aware of pending a conclusion and hopefully, an acceptable resolution. Often these things take on a life of their own without the political rhetoric. I hope that the victims are made whole, as I would if it were me or my family. regards

Haven't the Republicans wasted enough time and taxpayer dollars already on their empty partisan witch hunts? You'd think they would have learned after they tried to remove President Clinton over a consensual relationship with a consenting adult and their antics wasted an entire year and only resulted in President Clinton's approval rating rising 12 points. At this rate not only are the Republicans assuring President Obama's re-election, but if they keep this up there won't be a Republican to be found anywhere on Capitol Hill.

I'am a gun owner and don't belong to the NRA but what happened with all these guns is wrong wouldn't you want to know if holder has done something wrong and if holder or Obama didn't do anything wrong why use the executive powers .

Holder didn't know anything about the operation until after Agent Terry was killed and two (2) guns were found and traced back to the "gun running" done under the Bush Administration. Holder didn't withhold any information. It was a classic case of a "witch hunt." Another waste of time and money.
