The DOJ won't investigate voter intimidation, voter fraud or Democrat billionaire John Corzine but suddenly before the election they investigate a Romney super-donor.

With the unintelligible and ubiquitous laws and regulations we have today, every businessman is guilty of breaking laws or at least being at odds with the current interpretation put on them by present government officials. The big government mandate is to make everyone a criminal and to persecute just those who speak against or take actions against the government or the politicians in control. Big government is a giant protection racket. Obama and his Department of Injustice are prime practitioners of this sort of extortion racket. So, they are almost certainly in retribution mode against Adelson. They should be going after Jon Corzine, their "most brilliant adviser." They should be going after the executives who wasted the taxpayer's hard-earned income when they ran their little green companies into the ground.

Absolutely political!!! If you think for a minute that the Eric Holder DOJ would be conducting an "investigation" of an Obama donor, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I'd like to sell you! This is the most politicized Department of Justice in my lifetime, by far.

On a related topic, why do you think it is that no charges were brought by the DOJ against any of the principals of Goldman Sachs, big-time contributors to Obama?

Timing or not, does it matter?

Some of these investigations take years to develop to the point where they can become actionable.. sometimes it takes no time at all.

Politics aside, if the justice department believe they can nail the guy, then they start the process. IF IT SO HAPPENS that the media notices (which they WON'T unless they can tie it into something that is dramatic to the point of overblown...), so be it.

The justice department is doing their job. It's the media's spin to claim there is politics involved.

It is not just political. It is getting the attention because of the politics, but the guy rigged the primaries with the help of some very powerful people. The fact that he is accepting donations from a money launderer proves his own personal ethics are shady to say the least.

You didn't have to, it was all over CNN (one of the only things the liberal media did--mostly to discredit the Republicans, but there is a link on my profile to the only question I asked). How they waited 14 weeks to say that Paul actually won Iowa, how they intimidated, and then disenfranchised his delegates at the Convention there has been plenty of articles on Sodahead about that by Teri and Irish. This source article is just another in a long line of validation of certain facts that led to the conclusion I stated above.
