Any treaty with the UN (Small Arms Treaty) must be advised and consented to by a two-thirds vote in the Senate, then and only then can it be ratified by the President. The fact is Dems do not have the votes to send such a treaty to the President for ratification. But here is something to mull over, if it were passed by the Senate and ratified by President Obama the treaty would have the force of law and become the supreme law of the land... Of course it would immediately be taken up by the Supreme Court, but we have already seen how that might go.

Dick Morris continues to be a complete idiot. The treaty does absolutely NOTHING to affect the rights of gun owners in this country. It only restricts international trade in a limited number of weapons. It also cannot be imposed by the President (or anyone) without a two thirds vote of Congress, which in the era of the Party of No is impossible anyway. This is nothing but Right Wing fearmongering at its best.
