Jon Voight defends Brad Pitt’s mom. Whose side are you on?

John Voight is Angelina Jolie's father.

Angelina Jolie is the mother of Brad Pitt's children.

Brad Pitt's mother wrote an article criticizing Barack Obama.

Liberals lied and claimed the article was 'anti-gay'. The article was not.

Need proof? Read it yourself

For exercising her constitutional right to free speech, liberals responded with death threats against Brad Pitt's mother.

-Set aside that ultra-liberal Brad Pitt has said little or nothing in defense of his mother.
-Set aside that liberals claim 'bigotry' and 'prejudice' while simultaneously smearing Christians without the slightest hint of irony.
-Set aside the obvious hypocrisy of demanding Brad Pitt be allowed to support Obama and attempt to silence anti-Obama speech.

AND THAT'S A LOT TO SET ASIDE.

The only man with the stones to stand up and defend Mrs. Pitt is John Voight.

Whose side are you on? Mrs. Pitt or Barack Obama?

Brad and Angelena kept their opinions civil so I did not criticize them for their views. Brads' mother kept it civil so she should get the same courtesy from others.

The Murder threats are strictly an attempt by the Obama regime to silence those who are anti-Communists/.

Democrats have lost withe waning their sense of Democracy. Now it's all Tyranny and then some.

Although I do not agree with everything she said I do support her right to say it. People need to find other reason to vote for someone or against someone other than religion, race or party affiliation. People should vote on who they think is the best candidate not just pull the handle because they are democrat or republican. It is a sad state of affairs that people have gotten lazy when it comes to politics. In general their decision comes down to what the media throws out there, or a decision based on looks or party affiliation. Unfortunately, people are afraid to talk politics. Instead of having an open intelligent dialog about politics people resort to name calling and bullying. Try talking to someone with the political view than yourself. Chances are something can be learned. Above all keep it respectful. Once it degrades past the point of knowledge exchange it's not worth the effort.

She has a right as all Americans do to voice her opinion without getting the hateful responses that always come from the so called tolerant left! Have we gotten to a point now that we can no longer peacefully disagree? Why is it okay for those who are preaching tolerance to respond to a person who disagrees with them in such a hateful way? Brad Pitt's mother respectfully voiced her opinion as a Christian that all Christians need to prayerfully look at the choices we have this November and choose the man who will be the best choice for America and morally Obama, who is the most pro-abortion president in American history, is a horrible choice! This opinion is worthy of death threats? Give me a break! Kudos to John Voight for standing up to the so-called tolerant left and for standing up for America!

Mrs Pitt is allowed to have her own opinions and has the right to free speech - Her letter was not anti-gay and should never have been called that.

Good for Voight for standing up for her right to free speech - Where is her son??

Who, I should add, has not said one word on this faux-controversy generated by the far-Left and far-Right extremes. People are entitled to differing views. No one should be attacked for their opinion, but no one should be surprised and call foul when people react to statements made in public.

She is an American and she is entitled to voice her opinion. And that entitlement should carry a guarantee that she need not fear for her life for stating said opinion! Good grief, we allow KKK members to march in our streets (with proper legal authorization, of course) and other obnoxious groups, and that speaks highly for our stern belief in freedom in this country, particularly freedom of expression. Whether I agree with Mrs. Pitt or not? Doesn't matter. She should not have to be subjected to the vulgar BS that I've read she's gotten in the mail from people who don't agree with her. Totally uncalled for. You don't agree with her? Say so. But leave out the name calling, for heaven's sake. The recent spate of vitriolic rhetoric is so counterproductive. And downright uncivilized as well.

Regardless of the political beliefs of my step-mother (a life long Democrat who served in the Carter administration) and whose political beliefs I disagree with, had she been subject to the sort of attacks Mrs. Pitt has been I would have spoken up. For Brad Pitt not to defend his mother's right to her opinion without the vile attacks is tantamount to agreeing with the attacks!

Since I believe in free speech, I support Bitt's mother and Jon Voight. That aside; what she said is true. "Rev" Wright lives in a million dollar house in an all white community yet he acts overly black (probably because he looks 100% white) and acts like he stands by them and their ghetto community.

Mrs. Pitt has the right to speak, and, because of her son's fame, has some name recognition that makes people pay attention. Thank you, Jon Voight, for standing up for free speech. Keep in mind that Mrs. Pitt's letter was in response to a completely off the wall, very nasty opinion piece against Mormonism by a the editor of the Springfield, MO News-Leader.

BTW, her son Brad is in a profession that demands one either be a liberal or keep quiet. He SHOULD avoid expressing political opinions, but that doesn't mean that he can't step up and support his mom's right to speak.

A lot of his ideas are ok. But he himself is a loon. I’d love to see a realistic, Libertarian candidate. I voted for Keyes twice, but he wasn’t too realistic either.
