If you ever watch Stewart outside the confines of his show, he is very well informed and thought out in his positions. He has to be to be able to generate the punchlines for his show.
The difference here is Stewart takes facts and makes jokes out of them while O'Reilly takes jokes and pretends they are facts.

And you thought Barack Obama and Mitt Romney were the only ones participating in a hearty debate about the future of America. Turns out, Jon Stewart and Bill O'Reilly will have at it, too! The 90-minute debate between Stewart and O'Reilly will take place at George Washington University, but fans of either TV personality can live-stream the debate for $4.95.
Stewart is referring to the debate as an “old-fashioned duel of wits” and O'Reilly says the two will be “debating the state of the union and how the upcoming election is likely going to effect it.” So, who do you have your money on?

All Jon Stewart does is divert the attention away form the facts with his comedic performance., Anyone who follows politics from the words of a comedian shouldn't be allowed to vote.
#2, Uh, have you actually watched “The Daily Show”? Recently!?
He draws attention to the facts. He points out the facts.
I'm sorry, Paul, but you've got it turned round.
Please watch his shows. Someone's been feeding you a line of pure crap & you've bought it. He absolutely does not divert attention from the facts. He does absolutely the opposite.
O'Reily is not what I'd call "moderate," but he isn't radically right either.
“A rare moment of honesty” indeed!
O'Reilly will mop Stewart. Sorry libtards. ((snikker))
And if Papa Bear finds himself in a corner, he will begin the old chestnut of "I'm talking louder than you and over you." Very typical.
Because, let's face it, you already agree with one point of view more than the other and so that will ultimately shape your perception of who "won" in the sense of who made the best points. Surprise, the person who makes the points you agree with - you'll think they won.
To those of you who can appreciate good points made by people with opposing views, don't trash me... I'm not talking to either one of you. I'm talking to the rest of the world.
his political thinking is doughy at best.
Stewart is as politically sharp as he is quick witted... he will run circles around BillO, but he will not trash him...
he's a good guest and drives ratings.
he's a laughing stock.
i.e. c.l.o.w.n.
he would just be funny, like Jon
its funny, because its TRUE
