And you thought Barack Obama and Mitt Romney were the only ones participating in a hearty debate about the future of America. Turns out, Jon Stewart and Bill O'Reilly will have at it, too! The 90-minute debate between Stewart and O'Reilly will take place at George Washington University, but fans of either TV personality can live-stream the debate for $4.95.

Stewart is referring to the debate as an “old-fashioned duel of wits” and O'Reilly says the two will be “debating the state of the union and how the upcoming election is likely going to effect it.” So, who do you have your money on?

Jon Stewart and Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly will face off Oct. 6 in a debate being billed as “The Rumble In The Air-Conditioned Auditorium.”

If you ever watch Stewart outside the confines of his show, he is very well informed and thought out in his positions. He has to be to be able to generate the punchlines for his show.

The difference here is Stewart takes facts and makes jokes out of them while O'Reilly takes jokes and pretends they are facts.

Of course... both "parties" are jacked up. Definitely. No doubt. No argument.

But the GOP is scared as hell of Ron Paul & Gary Johnson. Ron Paul is not able to be corrupted & were he to gain too much momentum/power, it would severely jack up their system of plutocracy. So, they had to belittle & demean him ...because sheeple respond well to that. And it worked.

Guess they had some problems internally with Benton turning out to be a traitor. I don't find his supporters confused however. Most of them are gonna vote Libertarian Gary Johnson. Dr Paul also said some nice things about Gary.

Some of them already changed their names here.

Jon Stewart has beaten Bill O'Reilly on Bill's own show. I think it depends on the issues. If the issues are fiscal, O'Reilly will win. If the issues are social, Stewart will win. Jon Stewart is a better debater so I think he can secure the topics and bring out his strengths better than O'Reilly.

I think Bill has the better arguement and has the folks as he calls us in mind. Now Jon is a good debater and could win with tact and good lines just not on substance because the last 4 years he can't put out how the democrats have done a great job on anything.

He's definitely left personally, but professionally he's quite unbiased regarding who he calls out... everyone's fair game for him.

Credibility comes from honesty. While Mr. Stewart's jokes often exaggerate the facts, he's not spinning it as the truth. O'Reilly on the other hand... I've never known him to tell a joke or the truth. It's Mr. Stewart who is giving Mr. O'Reilly credibility, and perhaps a slight, temporary ratings boost to the O'Reilly Show.

Willy, Stewart is a democrat, but he still attacks the left when they do something wrong. He bashed Obama for not closing Guantanamo, for not leaving the wars, for increasing military budget, for not helping gays, and for pandering. What has O'Reilly done to bash Romney for his problems? Or is Romney just perfect?

I agree, partially. I don't think O'Reilly spins his message, but he does constantly interrupt and intimidate his challengers. Instead of trying to grasp their point, he just intimidates them into not talking as much.

No way can a liberal left guy that is PRO-Government spending win because of the results we are now living....bad economy, bad recovery. It should be perfectly clear to everyone that Government spending is the cause not the cure.

After the financial disaster of 2008, banks have tightened their standards on business credit, which is what previously financed corporate expansion and job creation. So government spending has been pro-corporate, not pro-government. It's the only source of capital that has kept our economy from sinking.

But the only reason we need jobs so bad is because we are unable to gainfully employ ourselves. Most people either lack the capital to start a successful retail enterprise or we are legally prohibited from utilizing the patented technologies essential to the manufacture of marketable goods. We also have state and local regulations and zoning laws designed to make it illegal for anyone to make a buck on their own without some kind of government or corporate oversight.

I think you are seeing the real problems facing the firewalls of business and success. It does take more than money to kick start a new business (loans) it also takes the strong feelings of possibilities . Minds working a mile a minute thinking this can work and setting out and trying. But, our Government, not just Federal, city, country, state makes it so hard to succeed. YUP, it is harder than it should be and guess what, without changes, and business friendly attitudes, it is going to get harder.
