And you thought Barack Obama and Mitt Romney were the only ones participating in a hearty debate about the future of America. Turns out, Jon Stewart and Bill O'Reilly will have at it, too! The 90-minute debate between Stewart and O'Reilly will take place at George Washington University, but fans of either TV personality can live-stream the debate for $4.95.

Stewart is referring to the debate as an “old-fashioned duel of wits” and O'Reilly says the two will be “debating the state of the union and how the upcoming election is likely going to effect it.” So, who do you have your money on?

NYPOST.COM reports:
Jon Stewart and Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly will face off Oct. 6 in a debate being billed as “The Rumble In The Air-Conditioned Auditorium.”

If you ever watch Stewart outside the confines of his show, he is very well informed and thought out in his positions. He has to be to be able to generate the punchlines for his show.

The difference here is Stewart takes facts and makes jokes out of them while O'Reilly takes jokes and pretends they are facts.

I dunno about that. He may not be as clever or as well-informed as Jon, but he can be funny when he wants to be. It might just be that his humor seems bland in comparison.

I do not care for these either/or responses. They fail to reflect all of the possible outcomes. I chose Stewart because he IS A COMEDIAN and by definition a "smartass"! He will operate accordingly. O'Reilly will be taking himself seriously. The comedian has more fodder to run with.

I can't stand either one of them but I'd love to watch it!

O'Reilly is a putz but he definitely has more facts and information on his side. Stewart is washed up comedian so I'm sure I'll be laughing at him no matter what. Either way, my computer might meet an early demise. :))

It's not funny, it's sad and pathetic. Anyone with a decent education knows how Bill's style of journalism works but sadly the American public isn't generally known for being well educated.

Yes indeed there is no real competition here. Anyone with a little intellect knows this. This will be like watching a great boxing entertainer in his prime like Roy Jones Jr. Stewart cannot just knock him out, he must play with him and let us watch him beat him down slowly, till he can't even defend himself anymore.

It should be set up as an actual debate like they do at collages, not a partisan interview so Bill's bully boy tactics won't work here.

Only on The Daily Show do they write his jokes. His stuff outside of the show is more serious. When he debates with Bill it is an easy win every time. All he needs to do is sit back and correct every falsehood Bill utters. Also his opinions seem to be more "centered" off the show.

Well in that case O'Reilly shouldn't have a problem because just Like Owebummer Stewart will not have the teleprompter and staff writing his lines for him. With out his crew he is nothing but a joke.

Stewart will fluster and be an irritation for O'Reilly.

I can imagine O'Reilly getting so upset that he'll start to sweat, then swear, and possibly leave the stage.

And, since it's a duel of wits, according to Stewart, he should have no problem winning, as O'Reilly will have trouble keeping his "wits" about him...LOL!!

Wow, someone moderating Bill O'Reilly. That ought to be interesting. He never lets anyone finish a sentence on his show, because he is too scared to actually have a real debate. I'm surprised he even accepted the invitation.

O'Reilly's an ass and distorts facts to fit his suppositions. Stewart's a clown and will make a lot of jokes. They are both nothing but entertainers, but Jon Stewart is at least a legitimate entertainer.
