Obama is a thief who continues to profit hugely from the graft and socialist schemes that he and his cohorts create. McCain is just a follower. What happened to the Conservative choices who would hold people accountable for their actions, reduce taxes, deregulate industry and healthcare, and give more power to the people, instead of stealing more of their Constitutional rights with an unjust Socialist agenda?

I dislike capitalism very much because it impies that I must earn wealth, rather than just be lazy and be paid just as much as anyone else no matter what the hardness of labor, or qualifications needed for specialized jobs. I love socialism, and communism, because we all know how well that has done for all other nations. Remember, vote obama, so the poor can stay poor, but live more comfortably, and so we can leave our borders open to terrorists, cause quite frankly denying people entrence into our country is just mean. :D

    I want my FREEDOM back............were losing our freedom in the USA..OPEN your eyes up people. My son is in the service....I have always been proud of our veterans and acknowledged memorial day for those who died for our country...now I'm not so sure about what they are fighting for now...I know it sounds minor here....we cant smoke ...why?????? because they passed laws we cant smoke practically any where...YET they still sell them....Double standards and control..........hense no freedom......We are made to wear seatbelts in vehicles...........YET a person riding a motor cycle doesnt have to wear a helmet....HELLO!!!!!! Doesnt make a bit of sense and MORE control NOT our choice hense NO freedom..........Yet our children ride school buses with OUT seatbelts............those are jew a FEW things going on...........I cant even begin or have enough space here to talk about everything. I dont want this socialized
    medicine here in our Country either........It will just OPEN the door for MORE

    Maggiemay, I want my freedoms back too. I don't know what it is going to take for Americans to wake up. I am tired of the government controlling so many aspects of our lives. Now, if Obamacare passes, they will control our medical care. I am very, very concerned about the treaty that many believe that Obama will sign during a meeting in December in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is being said that once he signs that treaty, America will lose her soverignty and our constitution will be meaningless because the treaty will override this. Surely, the liberals/conservatives don't want to take that chance, at least I hope not. I would hope and pray they would not want America to be a third world country and have our wealth distributed to the poor countries around the world. If this in fact happens, we are screwed because it cannot be revoked. What will it take for these people to wake up. Please believe in our rights. Pray to God for guidance. Please wake up for the sake of your children and grandchildren.

By reducing frivilous litigation with tort reform: capping the amount that individuals can sue. (This would also bring the cost of healthcare down. The cost of malpractice insurance is driving some physicians and specialists out of business.) Making the loser in a lawsuit have to pay the legal fees for both parties. It's about realizing that the Constitution guarantees equality of opportunity, not equality of outcomes. It's about holding people accountable for their actions: those that don't work shall not eat. It's about saving women and their unborn children from the trauma and death caused by abortion. It's about holding violent criminals accountable for thier actions, instead of providing them with cable television and a college education. It's about guaranteeing a family the right to keep and bear arms, so they can adequately defend themselves, should they need to. It's not a matter of Right or Left. It's a matter of Right or Wrong. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -12 (see trends). Republicans have opened their largest lead yet over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot.

    However, Republican voters say that GOP representatives in Congress are still out of touch with the party base. Most say that the average Republican in Congress is more liberal than the average Republican voter. Unlike Republicans, Democratic voters say that their party’s Congressmen and voters hold similar views. Forty-two percent (42%) say people randomly selected from the phone book could do a better job than the current Congress.

    A Month-by-Month Review of the President’s ratings shows that the Presidential Approval Index served as a leading indicator by declining months before the President’s overall job approval ratings fell.

    Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-three percent (53%) now disapprove.

    While much commentary has been written about how tough August was for Democrats, a review of the data suggests July was really the tougher month. The President’s Job Approval ratings fell more sharply in July than August. Additionally, the number of people who consider themselves Democrats fell to a two-year low in July before inching up slightly in August. Overall, 37.3% of Americans now consider themselves Democrats while 32.6% are Republicans.

    Most voters now expect that the situation in Afghanistan will get worse over the next six months. That’s up fourteen points over the past month. At the same time, the number worried about a terrorist attack in the United States has declined.

    It is important to remember that the Rasmussen Reports job approval ratings are based upon a sample of likely voters. Some other firms base their approval ratings on samples of all adults. President Obama's numbers are always several points higher in a poll of adults rather than likely voters. That's because some of the President's most enthusiastic supporters, such as young adults, are less likely to turn out to vote. Other factors are also important to consider when comparing Job Approval ratings from different polling firms.

    A Fordham University professor rated the national pollsters on their record in Election 2008. We also have provided a summary of our results for your review. In 2008, Obama won 53%-46% and our final poll showed Obama winning 52% to 46%. While we were pleased with the final result, Rasmussen Reports was especially pleased that our data was the least volatile of all the tracking polls. Our daily tracking showed Obama with a stable and solid lead with more than 50% of the vote every single day for the last six weeks of the campaign.

    In 2004 George W. Bush received 50.7% of the vote while John Kerry earned 48.3%. Rasmussen Reports was the only firm to project both candidates’ totals within half a percentage point by projecting that Bush would win 50.2% to 48.5%. (see our 2004 results).

    Daily tracking results are collected via telephone surveys of 500 likely voters per night and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. The margin of sampling error—for the full sample of 1,500 Likely Voters--is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Results are also compiled on a full-week basis and crosstabs for full-week results are available for Premium Members.

    Like all polling firms, Rasmussen Reports weights its data to reflect the population at large (see methodology). Among other targets, Rasmussen Reports weights data by political party affiliation using a dynamic weighting process. While partisan affiliation is generally quite stable over time, there are a fair number of people who waver between allegiance to a particular party or independent status. Over the past four years, the number of Democrats in the country has increased while the number of Republicans has decreased.

    Our baseline targets are established based upon separate survey interviews with a sample of adults nationwide completed during the preceding three months (a total of 45,000 interviews) and targets are updated monthly. Currently, the baseline targets for the adult population are 37.7% Democrats, 32.7% Republicans, and 29.6% unaffiliated. Likely voter samples typically show a slightly smaller advantage for the Democrats.
