John McCain can't promise to support Palin for President: What are your thoughts?

FoxNews.com December 16, 2008 00:31:27

When asked if Sarah Palin could count on his support if she ran for President, John McCain said that he could not make any promises. McCain had nothing but kind words to say about Sarah Palin, but said that there were other young rising governors to consider.

John McCain could be wisely avoiding a commitment to do something four years later, which holds an uncertain future. On the other hand, he may never plan on supporting Sarah Palin. During his campaign, there were many stories of strife between McCain and Palin. Sarah Palin's role as his vice presidential nominee arguably had a negative impact on John McCain's campaign.
How can he pledge support to Palin if we don't know who the candidates are yet?
John McCain found a nice way to say he won't support Palin.

    I think that John McCain...

is a traitor to Republicans and Conservatives.

He is only Republican in 'his' own eyes.
If he h\ad a backbone he would leave and admit he is a Liberal.

    I think that John McCain...

John McCain needs to crawl back into the moderate hole he came out of!! He's the reason Republicans lost the election..not Palin! True Republicans want a true conservative and we didn't get one this time around!! I don't know if Palin will be the best candidate available in 2012...there are other good candidates also. I liked Palin but I personally am not willing to commit to her for 2012 either...we'll have to see who else throws their hat into the ring!

    I think that John McCain...

Watching the coverage of the 2008 election felt like watching a made for Television mini-series with way too many episodes. It had that feeling of reality being slightly askew, kind of like that dream you have where you are looking for signs of reality to decide whether you are in a dream or not. There was a scripted quality to the campaign, and it's coverage by the media ,and the candidates" perfect for the part".feel. Obama played his part perfectly as the young king to be ,who must overthrow the old king and save the oppressed peasants. The part McCain played was as the loyal knight of the kingdom who must decide between whether to take the throne for himself or help the young king take the throne . Sarah Palin played the part of the young peasant who serves the loyal knight and knows that no matter what decision the loyal knight makes she will have a place in the kings castle. The reason for my little story is to make the point that unless Sarah Palin is willing to sleep her way to the top like some young Hollywood starlet she will never get the part where she ends up on the throne. Before anybody takes offence at my remark about Sarah Palin sleeping her way to the top I was using an analogy. What I meant is that she will have to do what all of them do if they want to rise...

Before anybody takes offence at my remark about Sarah Palin sleeping her way to the top I was using an analogy. What I meant is that she will have to do what all of them do if they want to rise in stature which is to sign away her integrety one piece at a time. Whether John McCain gives her the stamp of approval does not matter because in 4 years he will mostly be remembered as the person who lost the last election. The reason I personally think that there was friction between John McCain and the Palin's is because like a lot of Americans the Palin"s think there is something "really "wrong with our government. They realized after getting to know John McCain that he was no different from any other politician who has spent more than 25 years in Washington. The real John McCain was on display for all too see the night of his concession speech when he disrespected Todd Palin in front of a national audience when they shook hands. I am not saying that Sarah Palin might not make it to Washington as one of the Senators from Alaska ,but I just do not see her ever signing on the dotted line.
