Representative Joe Wilson, during President Obama's speech, became upset when the President claimed that "No Illegal Aliens will be covered under this plan".
In response Mr. Wilson yelled, "You Lie!" Later he apologized for "Letting my feelings get the better of me"

What Representative Wilson did was in poor taste, however I agree that President Obama has been less than candid about this plan.

Sad that it had to be done the way it was, but seems to me that is the only way to truly get anyone's attention. Joe called it like he saw it. Maybe now we will see some change, hopefully??? I also think that many have come to respect Mr. Wilson for his willingness to speak out against what we all know is happening.

"While I cannot argue that Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst in the hallowed halls of Congress was out of step with traditional decorum, the central point has not been addressed -- was the president lying in his address? If Wilson was wrong -- if the president was not lying -- then to do anything other than resign his office shows Wilson to be the basest sort of politician. If, on the other hand, the president was indeed lying and Wilson was doing his American duty in pointing that out, how could he think of apologizing? Perhaps Wilson should assemble his evidence and publicize it or, if wrong, fade into the merciful obscurity that awaits cowards." --Redding, ...

"I had to laugh out loud during silent reading today (yes, I'm a teacher and I had a room full of students surprised by my outburst) when I read the Obama quotes in the above article, specifically 'If you misrepresent what's in the [health] plan, we will call you out.' The news around here rings with how inappropriate Representative Joe Wilson's comments were, but it seems to me, he was just doing what the president stated he would do: call out the misrepresentations. Once again, Mr. Obama is proving that he is bilingual -- able to speak out of both sides of his mouth quite easily." --Newman, California

Joe Wilson (R-SC) has issued an apology for heckling President Obama, about an hour after the speech -- a clear sign the GOP realizes just how damaging his performance was.
His statement:
“This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.”

Didn't see it, read about his behavior.
Blessed Be !

On the other hand, I think that Mr. Obama has been less than candid about his "health care", especially with the speed that he's been urging everyone in Congress to make in passing it. I suspect that, like the stimulus plan, there is some freebies for some people, to be paid for out of our hides.
I cannot see with twenty million illegal immigrants how the "Plan" will avoid covering them. So I think that Mr. Obama is either being a liar in his speech or he's glossing over an aspect of the plan that has not been debated yet. In either case, a lot of us outside of the Beltway are doing a slow burn....
So, in a sense, Mr. Wilson speaks for many of us, who are tired of being conned by Republicans and Democrats who do things for our "own good" without asking us what we really want.
We're not children, Mr. Obama. Quit treating us like them. We can add, subtract multiply and divide and we know that you can't "cover the uninsured" without extending this to people in the US who are not here legally. Simple logic.
