"Vice President Biden has a little advice for those critics of the administration's push to ban assault weapons and limit the size of ammunition clips who say such measures will make it more difficult to defend themselves: Buy a shotgun.

Speaking with Parents Magazine in a Facebook town hall on Tuesday, Biden said that he has advised his wife, Jill — if she ever has the need to protect herself at their home in Wilmington, Del. — that a double-barrel shotgun should be her weapon of choice.

"I said, 'Jill, if there's ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here ... walk out and put that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house," Biden said.

The vice president went on to explain that popular assault weapons, such as the AR-15, are less useful for self-defense."

It might be good advice in this case because it ought to wake up the Secret Sevice agents and they could ride to the rescue. Anyone else, is likely to end up dead.

Following this advice would be akin to letting Senator 'the Swimmer' Kennedy give your wife a ride home for a party. I realize that he is dead, but you get the idea. Maybe Joe has his eye on an intern and wishes to avoid the expense of a divorce.

Joe Biden is a lunatic who has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. If he thinks two bullets will protect a women from a home invader he must really be crazy. How would she protect herself from a military machine gun that can blast through the walls of her house, GUN CONTROL LEGISLATION IS A BAD IDEA AND WILL LEAD TO MORE GUNS BEING SOLD ON THE BLACK MARKET.

I would prefer another tactic that I think is much more effective. Purchase a pump action 12 ga shotgun with a short barrel. Load the magazine with double-0 loads, leaving the chamber empty. As an intruder is identified, rack the first round into the chamber. If that sound isn't enough to discourage him the next sound (Ka-boom) will stop him in his tracks. Through the door, window, or wall. Nowhere will he be safe.

What an idiot!! Wait until the criminal is in range and blast him center of mass with the first barrel and then cock the second barrel and stay alert for either a second criminal or the first criminal trying to recover. In either case blast them center of mass and reload. then call 911.
