Companies are Downsizing = firing one full time worker and hiring 2 part time workers who will get less pay and bennifits in response to the upcoming Obamacare bill.

Companies like Caterpillar who have had labor disputes both here and overseas and are moving into Right to Work states and building new facilities where they aren't under the union bosses thumbs.
Toyota USA is doing the same in Mississippi and Boeing moved a good portion of their operations out of Washington to S. Carolina, another RTW state.

Why wouldn't they? Cheaper labor is a good return on the investment of moving operations. If only we could treat our own employees like they do in China, am I right? *wink* Just THINK of the investments we would be gaining... for the increasingly few, while everyone else... well, for a different day, I'm sure.

I don't seem to hear the employees complaining,.... only the ones in non RTW states that thought for sure they were getting the contracts.

As a liberal, I support that motion. Well, the thanking god thing aside at least but the Federal Government should not be hiring more staff than is needed in order to 'float' the economy. That is not the way to cut unemployment.

Problem is, no matter how they want to spin it, the Federal gov't. doesn't manufacture any product to sell or marketable service which are what boosts the economy.
Adding a single gov't. job in this environment only adds to the red ink, requiring more $$ taken out of the kitty with -0- gain.

If money was the only measure of "success", yes.

However that is, and should be, hardly the case. Our government is not a corporation. Maximizing profits is not its only goal, thankfully.

If you think our government's sole purpose is to make money, you have jumped the shark, friend.

Corporations are psychotic, one minded dictatorships of profit. This is not to suggest they are bad things, but to run a government like one would be hilariously ignorant.
