    I watched a California construction executive a few months back, putting his spin on why the Chinese are being offered these jobs/projects. He went into a lengthy diatribe but it all came down to this... they are better at what they do and work faster.

    During that same time frame, the energy sector in Houston announced it had posted over 70,000 jobs in 2011. They had to go overses to fill many of those jobs. Why? They are better at what they do and work faster.

    Meanwhile education in almost every state is being tossed on the dung heap, and many believe more cuts need to be made there. Teachers have the same social status as those who operate firework stands. Expect more Chinese in the future.

    Texans had a screaming fit when we learned Rick Perry planned to drive his Trans Texas Corridor straight up through the middle of Texas... through towns and communities and ranch lands. That was bad enough, but on top of it all, it was Chinese engineers and planners who were involved. Why ?? Texans wanted to know why when two tier universties, Texas A & M and the Univ. of Texas at Austin have stellar engineering programs attracting students from all over the world.

    yep. they had a major story on 60 minutes in the 70's about how foreigners were buying up our farm lands. i never forgot that. and yet nothing was done about it was it? it was mostly the japanese then.
