The number of people seeking unemployment benefits increased by 34,000 last week. Is it a sign that the job market is getting worse?

Reagan ended the recession in the 80's in two years,won a spending war with Russia, and lowered the unemployment by over 5%,so lowering the taxes did help.

That didn't last long, either. He also quadrupled the national debt, and the rich got richer while the poor got poorer. The crime rate skyrocketed under Reagan as did the number of homeless people.

Wrong. He ended a recession and won a spending war with Russia do of course the debt is going to go up. The number if homeless did not increase because he lowered the unemployment by 5%.

Only to you. From all your posts, I'm pretty sure you're a troll that I've seen with other accounts. I only block people when the get out of line and start hitting below the belt. When people start calling me names or whatever, it doesn't bother me because I know I'm getting to them.

I have Asperger's Syndrome which is a mild form of autism. I also, grew up with a lisp because I had a gap between my two front teeth until I had a franectomy when I was 15. I also had bad acne. There's nothing you can say to me that I haven't already heard.

Simmeri, Please google who does better for the economy and who does better with the national debt- dems or republicans. Reagan was very likeable politician who raised taxes 18 times, increased spending more than any President before him. Everybody is entitled to their opinions, but let's all try to have an opinion based on facts and not just feelings.

Reagan also lowered the unemployment by over 5%. , won a spending war with Russia, and got rid of a recession in 2 years. Obama raised the debt by 1.6 trillion himself and allowed the debt to go up another 4 trillion but has also ruined the credit and there are more unemployed people now than there was with Bush.

rules and regulations increase cost of business. also welfare state. its makes lazy people and it is also a burden on business. also police state is not free and costs a crazy amount of money. its not the police. its the policy makers. lovers of government support.

Funny thing is that on July 12th, jobless claims hit the lowest in 4 years! Furthermore, unemployment fraud cost America $16.5 billion last year.

Nope, it is not really getting worse and a yes answer is by those who just haven't done the research.

Actually, its about 3 WEEKS. It's the lowest jobless claims since about June 22, 2012. (about 392,000)

because there are still lots of jobs out there, but folks aren't willing to do what it takes to make money, so they would rather pretend they are looking and get a check from the government. every now and then when I decide to look, I see a whole page or two of job opening links in the local classifieds site. But some folks think there are above menial work to make a buck...and then who takes those jobs? immigrants or illegals. America's own fault for unemployment I say.
once a job is lost to an immigrant or illegal, it is gone for good.
