President Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the United States, served one term, which makes him eligible to serve a second term. Some critics of Carter and Obama suggest that President Obama served Carter's second term, but joke's aside, whom would you vote for in 2012? Assume that age didn't matter since Carter turns 88 years old before the 2012 election.
President Reagan soundly defeated Carter in the 1980 election. Reagan won 44 of the 50 states and 489 of the 538 electoral votes. Reagan won largely because of the weak economy, hostage crisis in Iran, and other failures of Carter's domestic and foreign policies. Obama faces a similar re-election challenge as the economy languishes, Iran builds nuclear weapons, casualties mount in Afghanistan, and American's feel despondent about the future.
Carter described Mitt Romney as "moderate or progressive":
You can share your appreciation or criticism of Carter and analogies to Obama, but President Carter deserves respect as a former president and a senior citizen -- so avoid ridicule and insults.

I think Romney has shown in the past, in his previous years as a moderate or progressive… that he was fairly competent as a governor and also running the Olympics as you know.... A good solid family man and so forth.

Mitt Romney+16Dang! Just when I decided that Romney was the best choice, the peanut comes out with this statement! The only thing that could put more doubt in my mind is if President Obama endorsed Romney!

Carter wouldn't even make a good idiot.
I thought that American values included being honest & treating others with dignity & respect.
Voting for a Republican or a Democrat in today's political arena is against American values. There is no one in either "party" who values American values... in particular Mitt Romney. He wants the common man/woman to be a slave to the top 3-8%.
No thanks.
As his coffers fill, the coffers of the average American empty. Every day the middle/lower class American goes to work, he/she fills the cup of the top 3-8%.
It isn't Republicans vs Democrats. They're both on the same side.
It's the top 3-8% vs the rest of us... & they're using the "parties" to divide The People.
Don't ever forget: Divided we fall.
We need to unite against our overly corrupt government & take back our constitutionally protected liberties that have been removed from us in bipartisan votes on illegal bills.
Step out of the "party" system & get back to American values. "Parties" sound a wee bit too Communist/Socialist to me. I like the idea of a candidate running on his/her own record, background & values... not what/who some "party" tells me to believe/back.
Romney, Obama... doesn't matter. The US is screwed if we put either of these two un-American clowns in.
You want to talk about wasteful spending? look at all the attack adds that the Obama adminestrartion arw using against Mitt Romney and everyone else who does not agree with Obama Obama is spending almost 12 % more money then Mitt Romney isspending.
Mitt Romney and 10 of his friends in college started a sucessful business and it spread acrossed the U.S.A. that is his hard work that paid off that he got rich off ofSo it goes against the American dream and the American freedom's to condem his sccess.
How did Barack Obama get his wealth? every business he has ever tride has failed and he left. That is why the Obama adminestration only uses attack adds because they have nothing else to be able to use along with his fear tactics and division propagada attacks to divide the nation.
The Democrats/Liberals/progressive Liberals have proven for 4 years that their is no reasoning with them in any way shape or form they have proven if you do not agree and ecept their way of thinking and nothing more then that then they will demonize you.
sounds like the KGB to me and socialist Germany befor it became Nazi Germany.

We have already given Barack H. Obama and his adminestration 4 years of chances and it has not gotten any better there for it is time to replace them and gve someone else a chance to c hange things.
But of corse the Democrats/progresive Liberals do not want to allow another person and adminestration that chance to change the nation for the better because it has taken alot of work for them to get the American proplr so brainewashed to allow themselfs to become slaves.
I'd vote for Romney, but his liking of him does not move me in one way or the other
Honestly, I wonder if Carter might have gone a bit senile. He seems to know only the Mitt Romney who was governor of Massachusetts and nothing that's happened since.
Just like Obama he fed us a lot of hope and left us feeling like a bunch of dopes.
Reagan was the dangerous old cowboy idiot who would cause a nuclear war with the USSR.
MSM was brutal on Reagan; Carter hung himself with his own words.
Well, ALMOST anyone...
