Apparently being a flight attendant is "in his blood" and he regrets quitting! I thought the way he quit was pretty funny, but I can also see how he may regret those actions. Well, if he can't get his job back maybe he can make some money on some talk shows or something.

So does he deserve a second chance?

When he popped the evacuation slide to deplane he effectively grounded that aircraft for a few hours. It is very labor intensive and time consuming to repackage the inflatable slide which is a required piece of equipment and needs to be in perfect working order to permit the next departure of that aircraft. He delayed the departure of that aircraft, which inconvenienced more than 120 passenger at that airport, and several hundred other passengers at airports where that aircraft was scheduled to go. An employee who willfully damages an airplane or otherwise willfully disrupts the operation of an aircraft does not merit a second chance; he knew full well what his actions would cause.

Yeah,.... no.. while I totally get the day he had and why he had to just "go".. I have to agree what would him keeping his job say to those who are service/customer care workers? I get it.. I loved the coverage...but cannot excuse the lack of cool and how he played it out...sorry dude. If we were like 20, we would all say hell yeah.. but that was 20 years ago.. we vote and stuff now. LOL

Is he serious? That dude started drinking on the plane earlier, lost his cool with a passenger, had a huge freak out scaring others and slide down the emergency exit.Even if he's is a nice guy in real life and is having a tough time, this doesn't exclude wacky behavior. We have had real terrorist that like to get on planes and kill people, and I would have been in fear of this mad man thinking he would seriously hurt one of us cause he's having a bad day.So keep him far a way from any kind of customer service job.....

I think what he did was funny as hell, and I can't say that I blame him, however, actions have consequences! Sorry Charlie!

I predict that: If he gets his job back he will die in a crashing plane. He should find another occupation.

As a retired FA I must say NO. He had choices...he could have had her arrested for assault. His behavior was totally unacceptable. All FA’s have at one time or another felt like slapping a pax…or throwing them off the a/c mid air and if I lost it or got a dollar for every time some rude pax called me a name I would either be in a state run home or very rich. No…he needs to go away….if he does get away with it…… it will be because he has played the substance card or the sexual preference card. I look at it this way….how would he really act in an emergency…..would he be the first down the slide. He cost the airline a lot of money and he gave FA’s a black eye…..I not only say NO I say HELL NO. To end this post I shall now say something that will probably get some nasty responses.
I have flown with many gay FA’s…both male and female….some I liked and some not so much…..but he acted like a pissed off queen….and he should have his career bitch slapped. (I am sorry for the language)
fasboth male female acted pissed queen career bitch slapped language

The more that comes out on that young man shows he has no consideration for anyone else. He has been caught in lies.... actually he stole beer then blew the chute, which showed no concern for anyone but himself. The other passengers commented about his rudeness. I don't think you can chalk any of this up to him having a bad day..... He should never work on another aircraft.

No, he should be in jail for opening that slide. Did he know no one was below that ramp when it opened up? He could have F-ed someone up doing that. Heed needs a year in jail. If he had a brain in his head he could have had to pilot call the cops and she would have been dragged off the plane in cuffs.

I might actually fly Jet Blue because I know Slater knows what to do in the event of an emergency. He's not some weasel pansy flight attendant but a real guy.

You don't really mean that do you? All attendants know how to deploy the emergency slide.... a real guy doesn't do what he did - showed no consideration for the safety of the passengers or those on the ground... it was all about him!

WRONG.....a real guy???? You two must hang out together..... what he proved was that he would be the first one down the slide and to hell with the pax. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Yeah I would have sued- but the airline was very nice -- even giving me 25 meal vouchers so I could eat aboard any of their flights --no expiration dates on the voutchers--I could even sell them on ebay -LOL- if I wanted too.

The airline cannot let this guy back even if they felt sorry for him - his actions on this flight were so off the wall and radical that he cannot be trusted - pressure is part of any job and if you have proven you can't stand the heat your employer cannot give you the responsibility that the job entails - especially when as with flight attendants the care and safety of customers are involved.

If you are in business - customers are always right - even when they are wrong - you have to bear their at times unreasonableness as part of your professional responsibility.

You know I was all behind this guy until I saw the video and saw that he could have easily have left the plane using the jetway that was still next to the plane. Now he looks like a big drama queen.

Don't get me wrong I don't think that people in the customer service industry should have to some of the crap that more and more rude customers give them, but also I think he handled it wrong.
