Jeb Bush to Speak at GOP Convention: Should GOP Feature George W. Bush?

Republicans announced that Jeb Bush, the former governor of Florida, will address the GOP at its presidential convention scheduled for late August. The brother of President George W. Bush and son of President George H. W. Bush enjoys support from conservatives and Floridians alike. The Republicans can benefit by energizing their base and winning the battleground state of Florida.

Democrats just announced that President Carter will address the DNC despite his criticism of Obama's human rights record. Many Democrats feel skeptical about having Carter speak in prime time because Carter lost re-election in a landslide to President Ronald W. Reagan.

Should the Republicans feature President George W. Bush at their convention? President Bush, the 43rd president, won re-election in 2004. President Obama ran a successful campaign in 2008 against John McCain by attacking Bush policies. Obama could try to link Mitt Romney to Bush and the recession.

TAMPABAY.COM reports:
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul and Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin will be on the rostrum as speakers during the Republican National Convention.

George Bush was a big spending type of Republican that we are trying to move thaw party away from. Just as Obama is the Big Governmwnt candidate Who's ideology Clinton announced was dead during his presidency and that we're chased into hiding when te last progressive movement was shown to be a failure

That is a big government philosophy just the same. None of it should take place. What about GM, the green energy industry, warren buffet and Soros, subsidizing GE, and on and on. Big government waste our money and you are advocating for more of it, not me. The democrats are worse than republicans as far as cronyism goes.

It is clear that you are an MSNBC Dave Matthews but job. All of the talking points with no substance.

    1. There are very few people that are not ok with temporary assistance for short term hardships or the mentally or physically disabled. That is a very small amount of hand outs anyway. It is the perfectly able people that CHOOSE to live off the backs of others that there is no excuse for and need to be cut off. They do not need to live in middle class neighborhoods with cable, cell phones, cable, cars, or other accessories in life. It would be good for them to be a little less comfortable. Lifetime entitlements do not teach them a skill set or in any way encourage them to better themselves. It does not really help them, their children, their neighborhoods, Orr the country. They can work like everyone else, and many will succeed when doing so. It has become a chosen lifestyle. It would be good for them to take any Jon they can for now or to have to beg neighbors because after a while they neighbors will say, hey you aren't even trying, go get a freaking job you bum. Something the government never does.

When you attack the rich, you do not even punish the cronies, just the growing entrepreneur that provide jobs an opportunity and are the future of our economy. Socialism simply does not work. A Europe crumbles, you idiots push the same failed policies. And don't pretend Obama and the democrats give a damn about anyone as Obamas brother lives in a shack.

    3. I am not sure what you mean about voting with your class. I am working class and I need a job, and every democrat policy destroys jobs for the lazy and their cronies.

No Bush should ever speak ever. Anywhere. Never. As in not ever. As in, shut the eff up forever and ever. Amen. Your dad sucked. Your brother sucked. Your mother is the Quaker Oats guy. And, you suck. Never ever. In fact, Constitutional Amendment XXVIII: No member of the Bush family, clan or lineage is to ever be allowed to speak either publicly or privately. You all suck.

Oh, by the way, thanks for Obama, W! Way to suck so badly, so completely, so mind-numbingly inconceivably bad that people were willing to vote for a militant anti-American communist as a reaction to your level of stupidity! Nice job. Hope you're proud, you moronic simpleton!

George W. would be too big a negative distraction. Obama's base (the fawning media) would have a field day with it. On the other hand, Jeb Bush was, by all accounts, a sucessful governor of Florida, a battleground state. Jeb's has always been known as the smarter and more talented of the Bush clan. In fact, Romney should select Jeb as his VP.

Jeb didn't do anything about the growing number of Illegals while his brother was POTUS. If Mittens was to make a point about getting rid of illegals, why pick a man who allowed even MORE of them into the country?

The GOP has enough sense to recognize that they need to get as far from Wand his failed policies as they can. However, Romney seems intent on supporting many of those same failed policies.

I don't support a lot of policies the Bush presidents have been behind. I'd like to see some new conservative faces.

Old school isn't appealing. Tea Party folks are hugely popular. The republicans lost due to the perception of the 'good old boys' club. Whether or not that was fair is moot. It happened.

So no, no Bush should be involved. Just like it's a huge mistake to put Carter on= but since that works in my favor... I don't have a problem with it.

Oh my. So many things that are disagreeable in 4 sentences.

No dear. You obviously refuse to see that Obama has doubled down on Bush policy. GITMO, Patriot Act, Rendition, Tribunals, Military force in Libya etc etc.

Obama's Keynesian economics have been an utter failure. It can't work, ever, because artificially propping up banks and manipulating currency with QE whatever the hell the number is coming up next is just an artificial financial construct, that sometimes works short term but never long term. Why do you think we always hear about a jobless recovery? It prolongs the mess preventing a financial reset.
