Janeane Garofalo Calls Republications 'Tea Bagging Rednecks': Is she right?

Marilyn April 17, 2009 22:38:29

Former comedian and actress Janeane Garofalo said that any one who participated in one of the 700 tea parties held across America is a 'tea bagging redneck.'

Janeane Garofalo said:

“It’s not about bashing Democrats, it’s not about taxes, they have no idea what the Boston tea party was about, they don’t know their history at all. This is about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism straight up. That is nothing but a bunch of teabagging rednecks.”

But critics claim that Janeane Garofalo is wrong, that her argument is banking on the fact that President Barack Obama is black. One stated: "Does she make a valid point as to why our ridiculous tax rates are needed and just? No."

What do you think?
Janeane Garofalo is right, Republicans are racist...

"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the BEAM that is in thine own eye?
Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the BEAM that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the BEAM out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye." - Luke 6:41-42

Oh my bad, Jesus used namecalling ("Thou hypocrite"), I guess in your field they would call that Dissociative disorders. Jesus is textbook coupled with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. He might want to get that checked out.

He apparently suffers the effects from the liberal malady known as being dropped on his head at birth. But, luckily for the libs, they found a cure for the effects of that, it's called a full lobotomy, and the libs are racing to their local "head" shop, to get theirs"~Ed

That's pretty obvious. Can't answer a question either, just deflects it. That's the type that worries me. He's like a bad cop hiding behind his gun and badge, take away his internet cloak and Planetpuke is probably some pea sized comic book junkie! I'm bored with his sub intellect so he can spew all the crap he wants-I find it amusing. Hey Raven-thank you for the words about Bear on your web site, that was really cool, you'd have liked him-he was a good guy.

"And lest one believe that the tendency for whites to psychologically pathologize blacks who complain of racism is only a relic of ancient history, consider a much more recent example, which demonstrates the continuity of this tendency among members of the dominant racial group in America."

The above was a statement in your comment. My question to you is this:

Where was the ACLU when Imus made his comment on the radio? Right there all over his comment - AND got fired. (Not that I agreed with what Imus did)

Where was the ACLU when Jamie Fox made his comment about Myley Cyrus? Haven't seem them yet.

So what do you call the ACLU?

And sitting in my AC cooled office with the Chelsea Arsenal game on the tube while I write mindless drivel on my "state of the art" computer, my wife bringing home dinner after her shift at the hospital I consider myself blessed beyond all I could imagine. I buried my dad in May last year and my son last month, but I say Thank you to God everynight and ask forgiveness-if that ain't enough I don't want to go there.

There are republican racist and there are democrat racist. Making a blanket statement like this is the same as me coming out and saying all short, unattractive actresses are closeted Nazi Dominatrixes.

The tea party I saw here in NJ while there were more republicans then democrats there were democrats there. Also white, chinese, and black people there who care about their country and wanted to make a statement even knowing no one will listen.

Political party affiliation has nothing to do with racism. The Tea parties had many different goals one was state sovereignty and the Federal RESERVE has caused us to be where we are by artificially lowering the interest rate on a Fiat Currency. many state declared there sovereignty from the federal government.

Sean, that very well may be what you were protesting, but I'm not sure a lot of the protesters knew exactly what it was they were protesting. I'm not saying Republicans are racist but a lot of this protest seem to be about bashing Obama for no other reason than they aren't supposed to like him.

Well You see from my experiance many people do not like him for the Bailout and how the money was treated Examples AIG ect at least that is what i hear from the people in my County. They were upset over the fact that there tax dollars and many who voted for obama were there as well cause they belived he did not hold up his campaing promisses. Which was his fault for trying to please everyone instead of speaking his mind. To me Political correctness sometimes will get you into more trouble than speaking how you really feal about things.

Janeane Garofalo is wrong, Republicans are not racists...

At least half of the American people did not vote for Berry. They stayed home, they didn't vote for president or they felt that he was not ready to be president. Let's look at it another way. Maybe we can say the democrates are sexist. They voted for the first black man over a white woman. Many democrates did not vote for McCain because they didn't like Palin and didn't want her to be president if something happened to McCain. That could also be discrimination against age. There fore when You have CNN saying things like white folk won't vote for Berry because when they go to the voting booth they will remember a black man who stole their purse, they are using the race card,. The media uses the race card to put down anyone who doesn't support Berry. When in fact the media is RACIST.

You're welcome. The democrates could not elect one because the media started trashing Bill and Hillary just like they did John Kerry and Al Gore. If you notice, most democrates would not cross over because they did not want Palin to be president if something happened to John McCain.

Yeah, I was surprised to see her on '24' but she had a smart-bitchy part so it pretty much suited her. We didn't make it past the first few episodes this season, the writers were too ... I think the Liberals are doing a disservice to 0bama playing the race card so ofter when someone disagrees with him.
It only increases the division in this country because those people, who joined in the protests, and others are so tired of the accusation of racism. When are the liberals going to recognize some people, actually many people, just don't like his policies and positions.
