PHOENIX — Gov. Jan Brewer on Friday signed into law a bill to cut off
Planned Parenthood's access to taxpayer money funneled through the
state for non-abortion services.
Arizona already bars use of public money for abortions except to save
the life of the mother. But anti-abortion legislators and other
supporters of the bill say the broader prohibition is needed to ensure
no public money indirectly supports abortion services.
Planned Parenthood Arizona claims a funding ban would
interrupt its preventive health care and family planning services for
nearly 20,000 women served by the organization's clinics. The
organization says it will consider a legal challenge.
The measure targeting funding for Planned Parenthood for non-abortion
services was one of several approved by Arizona's Republican-led
Legislature related to contentious reproductive health care issues this
session

Let them get ALL their funding through personal donations by those who support their position.
They claim that only 3% of their services are abortion, yet they are the nations largest abortion provider and rack up a 330,000 death toll every year, nationwide.

The next bill will require proof of citizenship for ANY govt. assistance.
I bet you'd sing a different tune if you had to write a check to planned parenthood directly every month.
Who is stopping them from walking though the door?
Does this bill tear down the building and fire the employees?
What's stopping YOU from donating your $$?
Nobody is trying to deprive them of anything.... simply saying they can pay for their desires themselves.
$17 Trillion dumped into the 'war on poverty' with Detroit being the 'model city' and where has that got us? The poverty rate is higher today and the communities where most of the funding went are in shambles.
Cradle to grave 'Julie' is a perfect example of enslaving people, women mainly, to a life of govt. entitlements while vilifying those who who broke from the chains and gathered some personal responsibility.
Why does the left tear down women like Star Parker when she is one of the most inspirational examples of 'been there - done that - and survived'? It seems they would be embracing her message and work towards the goals they 'claim' to have.
Did you know that 50% of Romney's hand picked cabinet and high level positions in Massachusetts were women? The only state close was Connecticut with 35%
The auto industry destroyed itself by its arrogance, Michigan destroyed itself by hitching their wagon to the auto industry.
LBJ chose Detroit as his model city and the Federal govt. dumped a tremendous amount of funds into redeveloped communities, infrastructure and it was one of the best places to live in America at one time.
Problem is, the amount of corruption that plagues the Great Lakes region and the horrible choices Detroit made for past mayors offset any of the good that was done and the city turned into a sh!thole in no time. Henry Ford held out and didn't cave to unions until his Son Edsel took over operations in 1977 and Detroit has never been the same.
There are plenty of other cities that received tons of taxpayer funds to turn them around and the results have been the same.
St. Louis, Washington DC, Houston, Cleveland, Pittsburgh..... some have fared better than others but they are testaments that merely throwing $$ at the problem doesn't fix anything.... it has to be accompanied by people who are willing to change their lifestyle and aren't suckered in by govt. freebies.
I don't jump in someone's chili until they needlessly try to draw blood or simply never had a full deck to begin with and went ballistic.
