This is pure blasphemy. Can you imagine if people had a Vegas awards show for whites only and said this about President Bush or Governor Romney?

I think that whoever wrote this thread has a screw loose, has no sense of humour and is a religious bigot.

LOL. So, I'm a religious bigot for finding Jamie's blasphemous comments offensive, eh????
Thank you, for proving once again that the left is clueless.
If there was no double standard you would have no standard at all.

It's highly offensive and I'm not even Christian. Jamie Foxx has every right to SAY what he wants, it didn't physically hurt anyone. Doesn't mean people aren't allowed to be offended by it. Think about how many people would be screaming, creating violence, had the tables been turned and this exact phrase had been uttered about Romney.

You think he said that because he was trying to be funny? It was a joke?
  • Singerar schjaz 2012/11/29 00:49:27

Absolutely. The thing you hear after he says it....is laughter.

So you don't get out much do you? Cheers is the same as laughter.

    Pfffft......

she doesn't understand that cheers and applause is different than laughter and applause. besides, Foxx apologized now and did what everyone knew he would do....claim it was a joke gone wrong.

it's hard to say. We have seen tremendous presentations about that sort of thing on the Internet, Amerika the new Guiana, with Barak Obama giving America Kool-aid... There were images not unlike the ones here with every possible parody. It's hard to say what he future will bring. I personally never thought America would elect a black man to the Presidency, even for one term, let along two. So my perceptions in this regard may mean nothing. I think there won't be a lot of this cult of Obama brought about seriously by the administration. A Hillary will still immediately declare that she takes full resposibility for the embassy murders, not our Commander in Chief. This of course on the verge of the election. But "Saint Obama" will probably be a concept to come from some sort of static producing committe online. While this doesn't happen, without any actual thinking taking place in anyone segment of the population, things can change radically, as people are mind controlled into any number of never before used practices. Its hard to say how many of us will resist, unsucessfully or successfully. Lots of changes can take place in a years' time. What Planet Are You From

I think he took it a little too far LOL. President Obama HAS saved the American economy, and he HAS saved America's prestige and respect in the world community, and he HAS saved the individual rights of American citizens, and he HAS saved the lives of many Americans who now have access to health care, but I wouldn't go so far as to use the word "savior".

The President of the United States is not--and must not ever become--a religious figure. This is the whole reason for the founding of the United States--revolt against stupid asinine England where the Archbishop is part of the government. Sorry Jamie, you did a great version of Ray Charles. But my President is the CEO of the United States Government, not a freakin' priest, or demi-god, or emperor (like Hirohito) or a faux priest (like Newsweek called George W. Bush in March 2003).

KEEP THE US GOVERNMENT FREE OF ALL RELIGIOUS INTERFERENCE AND RELIGIOUS DØGMA!

How is it "despicable"? He's entitled to his opinion, just as the artist who made that painting is. We may not agree entirely with those opinions, but surely you wouldn't want to censor opinions we don't agree with, would you?

This was an excerpt from his apology
"Foxx, who made the comment at the Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, tells ET's Nancy O'Dell in an interview at his California home that his comment was intended as a joke. "I'm a comic,” Foxx says, “[and] sometimes I think people get a little too tight. And, it's getting a little tougher for us comedians [because] some people take it and want to make a huge story out of it, but it's a joke."
