W.H. Petition Calls for Stripping Citizenship and Exile for Anyone Who Signs Petition to Secede
1:54 PM, NOV 13, 2012 • BY DANIEL HALPER
A White House petition gathering force calls for citizenship to be stripped and exile for anyone who signs a petition in favor of a state's secession.
"Mr. President, please sign an executive order such that each American citizen who signed a petition from any state to secede from the USA shall have their citizenship stripped and be peacefully deported," the full petition reads.
The title of the petition is, "WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: Strip the Citizenship from Everyone who Signed a Petition to Secede and Exile Them."
As of this writing, 2,205 have signed the petition; 22,795 more signatures are needed for the issue to be addressed by the White House.

'Do states even have a right to secede anymore? The answer, according to arguably the most respected conservative Justice (Justice Scalia) of the United States Supreme Court, is an unequivocal “no.”....

the question is so firmly settled that it could not even get a hearing before the Supreme Court, because the United States government would refuse to entertain it:"...

Cut Texas loose and let them be the capital of Jesusland. The rest of the southern states are welcome to join them. Then deport the rest of those who want to secede to Jesusland. :)

Removal of citizenship and exile is the usual punishment for those who renounce their country. There is a historical basis for this in American history. That basis even extends to classic American literature. Please see:

Actually, New York only gets 79 cents back for every dollar it sends to the Federal government, and California only gets 78 cents back.

The dark red and blue states on the map below received $1 more of federal tax money back than every dollar they contributed.

Didn't these morons want to secede, anyway? You can always pick up new citizenship papers in your new country. Remember to have all your credentials- birth certificate, photo ID, place of your old country (U.S.) residency, school transcripts will help.

Psst....no one can secede anyway. So stop getting your tidy whities in a twist. Pathetic.

All of these petitions are a silly waste of time. Secession is unconstitutional, and even if it weren't, it wouldn't be up to the President to let them go or not anyway. Similarly I don't believe a President has the authority to strip an American citizen of their citizenship. And in any event, even if he or Congress wanted to do so, it would be a violation of the First Amendment rights of those petitioning to secede. The First Amendment does protect a person's right to say something stupid if they choose to.

I think the Republicans need to get over the fact that they lost the election, and the Democrats need to stop trying to gloat, and BOTH SIDES need to get back to actually working towards resolving the issues that face the nation, like the looming "fiscal cliff". It's a little too early for the 2016 Presidential campaign to begin, isn't it?
