It's been one year since the death of teenager Trayvon Martin, who was fatally shot by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, in Florida on February 26, 2012.
As Zimmerman remains out of sight and prepares for a high-profile murder trial scheduled for June, Trayvon Martin's parents -- Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin -- are in the forefront setting up a vigil in New York City for their son's sad one-year anniversary.
The details of what exactly happened between Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman one year ago are still unclear, but what do you think happened? Do you think Trayvon's death was race-related? Or was it a self-defense issue, as Zimmerman claims?

Sterling 2013/02/26 20:03:27No, it was a self-defense issue+76It wasn't a race issue until the media portrayed Zimmerman as a white man, and thugs started mindlessly targeting white people as "justice". The actual shooting had nothing to do with race, although I still can't know for sure whether or not it was truly self-defense.

He didn't follow any of those rules at all.
Everything about Zimmerman, incident, and it's aftermath is a race issue... it has poisoned everything from the start, and it will have to be molecularly extracted and quantified every step of the way until the case is closed, and justice served.

Zimmerman does not have any black DNA in him. His parents, one was white the other was of Hispanic origin. He's a short man, he has SMS-short man syndrome. Always trying to prove themselves. Racist? How would Zimmerman feel if the shoes were on the other foot. See a Hispanic man walking & someone thinks oh he's up to no good. Looks like he's scoping the place to rob a home or steal a car. That's the mindset alot of people have of different races. U see a Middle Eastern, or a Muslim, u automatically think he's a terrorist. That's my feeling/opinion on this story. I hope justice is served and it's not 'Just Us' as seen in many trials. Zimmerman is a fake and fraud. His wife too! Not reporting the amount of donated money received when asked at his bail hearing. Suppose to help pay for atty fees, security, living expenses, etc. He should have thought about the what ifs, the shoulda, coulda, wouldas, before going out there trying to be super neighborhood watchman. I have no pity for this loser! Lied then, lied to the police, lied to the judge, & still lying! He's just a liar and not credible at all!
I feel for the parents and siblings of Trayvon Martin, also his gf. Im sure she's devastated having to hear it all talking on the phone to Trayvon. I hope justice is served with integrity & fairness. This young man's life was taken away. Trayvon Martin, may you R.I.P.
On the other hand if he wants to hunt people he should join the Army, but then he is probably too afraid to do that too.
The fact is the kid should have been happy that someone was watching the complex but he confronted Z man and he lost. Get real about this. Anyone else except a punk would have just gone home.
Trayvon got the worst, don'cha'know
