How can it be safer with unsecured Borders?

    Obama open Borders no way.

Fear that the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya that left four Americans dead could damage President Obama's foreign policy credentials just 50 days before the election may be driving the administration's insistence that the attack was a spontaneous act, analysts said Monday.

The Libyan president said over the weekend the attack was clearly pre-planned and could bear the markings of an Al Qaeda strike. An intelligence source in Libya also told Fox News on Monday there was no significant demonstration at the time. Still, the administration has contended the attack was "spontaneous," a product of protests already under way against an anti-Islam film. This is all B.S. people.

Nope! and with barry slashing defense spending and other intelligence gathering organization it's less safe than before. If some kind of security agent or official should question or search a middle eastern arab type that's acting suspicious will get in all kinds of trouble. Between both parties total lack of concern about our southern border's security when they are well aware of muslims coming acrossed it. Bringing in only God and they know what. dubya not only opening but tearing the gate off the hinges and saying "come on in"We are less safe and secure and in more danger than before with both dubya and obummer's administrations putting all these muslims in sensitive positions...

Since all we needed 11 years ago was a president and an administration who would heed

Nope. All we've accomplished is to make a lot more people angry with us, and to surrender our rights and freedoms for the illusion of 'security'. The Terrorist Surrogate Agency violate the Constitution by their very existence. The Founding Fathers would be ashamed of us.

Since the U.S. sees nothing wrong with invading other Countries for bogus reasons
and in other instances trying to have influence over their Government, we will never
be entirely safe. Already most of the World hates us and wants us to withdraw our
troops in the Countries where we still waste money and lives. If you think the war
is over in Afghanistan, you are so totally unaware of what is going on. They have wanted us to leave for a long time. Maybe we are still looking for Bin Laden or could it have
something to do with their oil???

Not only are we LESS safe, we're also FAR less free.

And to make this realization all the worse, this is precisely what Bin Laden predicted would happen. We would descend into a "choking hell" of oppression in our zeal for chasing ghosts.

We are not safer than we were 11 years ago.
We ARE less free than we were 11 years ago.
Our government has leveraged the attacks of 9/11 to wage an all out perpetual state of war in the middle east, costing us trillions of dollars that will span many presidencies.
This fight with Al Qaeda will become our palestine. It is a fight against a moveable people that have no one country, no one flag, just one ideology that stands juxtopposed to ours. And for every top military leader of theirs we take out, 20 more new members will get recruited to their ranks. This is an international gang war and it will not stop in our lifetimes. We've also seen some of the biggest ballooning in federal spending since 9/11 with the construction of the Department of Homeland security and with the implementation of the Patriot Act. If you thought the Pentagon was spending too much money before on surveillance, black ops, drone technology, counter-insurgency, and intelligence gathering it's absolutely immense now. Gone are the days of "innocent until proven guilty" even if you are a US citizen. Our government's definition of what constitutes a terrorist is so broad that it even infringes upon our free speech rights.

Maybe a little safer paying a little more attention to the idea of terrorism. 9/11 was somewhat of a wakeup call for the US that we're not invulnerable.
Terrorism is what it is and will always be difficult to guard against, especially in every remote location the USA has on the map.

Whether it's the republicians, democrats, Bush or Obama, or even if Romney gets his chance as President (if who's President really matters that much anyway), terrorism witl always be a threat that needs to be taken serious

    Seems that way sometimes.

Maybe our police wouldn't seem so bad if any of us experienced the brutality of the gestapo, or some 3rd world country ruled by a dictator and more corruption most US citizens can imagine.

I do get your point about our own police, there have been plenty of circumstance in our own country of police brutality, not to mention laws restricting our freedoms. I would think most of us agree that kind of "protection" we don't want in a free nation.

As you can see, we are safer now. 9-11 has not happened, again.

History shows us we were not safe when Bush spent billions on military programs. Bush has no legacy because of his failures. The Bush administration spent billions of dollars on wars.
Bush Signs Away More of YOUR Money

This stopped nothing, except McCain and Romney from getting into the White House!

Really? I've heard of *lots* of attacks on American soil that weren't thwarted. And I'm sure there there were thousands more that I didn't hear about.

The only "thwarting" I've heard about were complete imbeciles who were mostly just set up for entrapment by the FBI.

Key word is ATTEMPTS! 9/11 wasn't merely an "ATTEMPT!" I can "ATTEMPT" to win the lottery, but unless I hit all the numbers I get no money, no jackpot. What's that "ATTEMPT" worth? NOTHING!
  • Paul Proggy 2012/09/16 07:51:56
    Paul
Good thing 9-11 hasn't repeated itself, or anything to compare. Terrorist "attempts" still happen and people die, property damage occurs, and the terrorists are hardly deterred from their actions, and your talking about semantics, whatever!
  • Proggy Paul 2012/09/19 06:35:42
    Proggy
If people die and property is damaged, then it's a bonafied complete "attack" not simply an "attempt".

Absolute first search that sprang to mind:

    Real Terrorism

Other obvious searches return music videos. If you really want (and think I'm lying), I'll dig up my email archives.

Terrorists operate regularly on American soil. Most of them have badges.

Or were you arguing with my assertion that most "planned terrorist attacks" were entrapment?

That's the most serious article I've run across. I'd think that any good Proggy would be up in arms about this. Since, after all, it's really GWB's policies against freedom that we're talking about. (You know, the ones the ones that Obama absolutely loves?)

Or maybe you had something different in mind?
  • tom C jimrthy... 2012/09/14 21:09:18

Proggy has no clue....the only reason Obama has any means to stop attacks is because
of Bush setting up GITMO..and interrogating prisoners....
which the obama then calls inhuman...even though Obama benifitted from Bush's work..
  • jimrthy... tom C 2012/09/20 05:51:32
    jimrthy BN-0
Actually, the *real* reason that Obama "has any means to stop attacks is because" he's letting the freaking military sort-of do its job.

I'm not writing this in favor of Obama, by any means. I just happen to agree with TJ that sacrificing freedom for security is a losing proposition.

Your reply made me curious. found a couple interesting articles in regards to terrorism since 9-11. You did specify American soil, makes the search little more difficult. Interesting piece on homegrown extremists.

"The most common targets in the U.S. have been military installations, major landmarks, transit systems and Jewish or Israeli institutions. In fact, hatred of Jews and Israel has played an alarming role in the radicalization process of many of these same homegrown extremists"

America is a far more dangerous place than it was before 9/11. Even if you only possess a very tiny brain and you still believe the fairy tale our Government told us about who attacked us, you should still be very, very, worried. Since 9/11, we have lost virtually ALL of the rights we were "guaranteed" in the bill of rights. We didn't choose to give them up, they were taken without our consent, or even knowledge for most people. We no longer have free speech, the government can and does spy on everyone in the country without probable cause or even a hint of it. When the new domestic spy center is completed in Utah, they will have the capacity to record everything you ever do. That includes every phone call, email, tweet and everything else you do in social media. They will record every check you write, every credit and debit card purchase and every deposit you make, anywhere in the world. They are going to record EVERYTHING ON EVERYONE IN AMERICA with the express purpose that they will have all the information they need if they ever decide to pick you up. They don't even need a reason. They can now even use military drones to spy on us. They can now arrest you and put you in a military prison for the REST OF YOUR LIFE without so much as even charging you with a crime. And don'...

They don't even need a reason. They can now even use military drones to spy on us. They can now arrest you and put you in a military prison for the REST OF YOUR LIFE without so much as even charging you with a crime. And don't bother to worry about being able to talk to a lawyer, they can imprison you forever without giving you that privilege. The government now has the right to take everything you have including your money, your car, your house, and even the food in your home in the name of "National Security". They can now use our own military against us on American soil at will for what ever purpose they desire. They can, and will bring in U.N. troops in order to enforce their will.

I could go on for hours with this, but what you need to know is that you should be very, very afraid, but not about what some raghead in a cave half way round the world is going to do. They are converting all of the empty military bases around the country into concentration camps for a reason, and it's not to put millions of Muslims in.

Before you dismiss all of this as some sort of paranoid conspiracy theory, you should know that everything I said above and much, much, more is a matter of public record, all you have to do is open your eyes and look.

The "War On Terror" was designed to get us to give up all of our rights in the name of security. It has worked like a charm. Again, don't take my word for this, do some studying on your own. What you are going to find is shocking.

Anytime you give up freedom for security, you will have neither.

The enemy you really need to fear is in Washington, D.C. You are about to vote many of them into office or return them to office. The ball is in your court, either do the research and make up your own mind, or go blindly into a future that is going to make Hitler look like a Sunday school teacher. Your choice, but the facts are there if you are willing to look. If not, you had better be on good terms with your God because you are going to need all the help you can get. In fact, we all are.
