A couple days ago I promised to post a side-by-side comparison of Obama and McCain on issues. It took awhile and it was an enormous amount of information, so I have distilled it here into brief synopsis. These items in no way reflect bias on my account; they are taken verbatim from Campaign Issues 2008. The list is not all inclusive, but represents those issues most often brought up on SodaHead. All issues are discussed on the website. Although I viewed many sites, I found that Campaign Issues 2008 (http://www.issue2008.com/) had the most non-partisan information which was easily comparable. It does appear, however, that the site has not been updated recently, as it does not mention 2008 voting records. Please go to the website for more information, including videos of each candidate discussing his stance on each issue.
From their website: â€*The words - candidates' stated political positions - are drawn from recent speeches, press statements, and debates or from their campaign web sites, often using direct quotes. The actions include voting records, legislation promoted or sponsored, budget proposals, ratings by interest groups (where based on similar actions), and so on.â€
Education
McCain
Words: McCain supports rewarding good schools and advocates charter schools, as well s allowing the states to decide on school vouchers programs. He’s against nationally imposed standards for funding and feels that such programs penalize students. He also believes that teaching creationism and evolution should be decided at the local level.

Voting for Obama because of his stance(s) on....
Everything!! His views are almost exactly what mine are. He votes for and with the people and I believe he has our interests at heart. It is obvious that McCain comes from a totally different world than I do and he is really looking out for big business and the rich. Personally I think they can look out for themselves. Wow you did lots and lots of work on this!!! Thank youView thread

What the cowering, intentionally dumbed-down sheeple fail to realize is that this election is not about electing Barack Obama, nor is it about any one particular issue...it is about the UTTER ANNIHILATION of the fetid, stinking carcass of the Bush-McBush Criminally Corrupt Republican Party and a return to The Rule of Law, complete with reverence for The Constitution rather than cheap Made-in-China flag pins.
We will prevail because our RAGE is more powerful than their FEAR.

By the way . . . that was my attempt at a joke. Making fun of liberals who say republicans are neanderthalic creatures that hate all poor people.
McCain wasn't my first choice for the republican candidate, but in my mind, he's like, 8 thousand times better than Obama. There are very few things that Obama supports that I agree with. I vehemently . . . I repeat . . . vehemently oppose taxing the shit out of the rich. I think it's a very bad move, but hey, what do I know, right?
As far as Ron Paul, well, I think it's useless. There is no way in hell he could win, so why even try? He will just take fiscally conservative votes away from McCain, and take the silly college kid votes away from Obama. I really think that there are a LOT of people (especially young people) who support Ron Paul or Obama just because that's what's cool to do. Probably some for McCain too, but nowhere near as many. I'm not saying that ALL Obama or Paul supporters are clueless though. However, I'm a college student, and I see tons of Obama supporters that geniuinely have no idea why they support him. That is no joke. They say things like "I like his policies," but can't tell you why, or even what his stance is on certain issues. It's sad.
