This is something I cannot agree with. The main reason being this world has dozens of different religions, all of which are free to praise and worship their way. Claiming to know one religion as the only real one is, honestly, a little cocky. Any of the religions could turn out to be true. Likewise, it could also turn out every religion is wrong.

Plus, the US does not have one religion, therefore, asking people to praise god is not going to make sense to some, since they'll just assume you meant praising the god or gods they believe in.

I'll end this with saying I personally do not live my life with religion, and my response was merely an unbiased one, based on the differing religions I do know of.

Yes indeed we need to bless God . God has blessed this country so much and then God is taken out of everything ... and look at the down fall of America becuse of that!! America is supposed to be the haven for varying beliefs and principles. I think if we collectively "praise" one God while blatantly ignoring others, we are being disingenuous to the credo that this is the "land of the free." Don't dictate who I should, or who anyone should, pray to - just be grateful you're living in a country that allows you the freedom to practice, and LOUDLY preach, your beliefs.

There is only one God..that I know of....No one is dictating who you should pray to...it's your personal choice and your FREEDOM to do so......

I agree o the it's "my freedom" part. But just because you have a truth and KNOW there is only one god, that doesn't preclude others from having a different truth. If we say it's "time for America to bless God" you get into specific religious ideologies and that can be a tumultuous affair.

Buddha is not a god, he was more like a prophet. I see your point though and I agree, there are more than one religion and more than one God, and then there are people who have none. All should be respected equally.
