Isn't giving more of our TAXPAER MONEY to the government similar to giving a DRUG ADDICT more drugs?

Great post. Although this administration is doing its share of damage, we took our first step down this slippery slope decades ago. There is plenty of blame to go around including we the citizens who feel asleep in front of the TV set.

THIS is true but before we condemn the American People outright for allowing this we have to ask a question.. If a man convinces you that he is trustworthy and then steals you blind who at fault here??

WE, the People fell asleep infront of that TV set.. WE were raising families,, working and living our lives and trusting those we put in power to be trustworthy SECUR in theknowledge that outr CONSTITUTION would protect us from abuse.. WE were naive'.. like children who believe in Santa CLause.. It never occurred to us that Santa MIGHT enter our homes to ransack the place..

"Never in AMerica" was our Creed.. WE never thought that it was POSSIBLE for anybody to willfully violate outr most precious freedoms and liberties and NOT suffer INSTANT doom and destruction.. It was as though we thought GOD himeslf would take a hand and SMITE the evil doers in our midst..What we forgot was a central theme of out Religion.. "God helps those who help themselves" and when we hear the words,, " The TREE of Liberty must be watered by the blood of Patriots and Tyrants" THAT means US and NOT just the HEROS of the past..

But ALL is not lost.. In EVERY society where Freedoms and Liberties are cherished the lessons of WHY those freedoms and liberites MUST be cherished must ALSO be relearned and the lesson is a simple one and cannot be ignored..

"You DON'T really MISS it until you don't HAVE it anymore and LOSING it is only ONE Tyrant away from reality.."..

I identify with everything you are saying. I am no better than any other American. I believed in the good intent of our leaders. I believed that God would protect and perserve us in face of the worlds evil forces. At this late stage of my life I feel I am seeing the truth for the first time and much of what I believed to be true and real was a lie. I am pointing the blame at the American public as my way of reminding people that this is our country. We rule the legislators and not the other way around. We have lost our power and I don't know how we can get it back. I think awareness is the first step. Some say I come on too strong but that is only because I care so much about the future of our great country. Thanks for your comment.

My apologies if I came on as being critical of your assessment.. I meant no such thing but was instead trying to clarify your points.. The fact is that in a Nation where we have ALL been taught that the ultimate power is in our hands we have been woefully naive' and yes,, even NEGLIGENT in our DUTIES to ourselves AND our Children as a FREE PEOPLE..

We must NEVER forget that a People get the Government that THEY deserve and when they feel otherwise,, they have ONLY themselves to blame..

    Believing in God is fine.
But believing that God will take sides in a sports contest or a political situation is not going to happen.

It's all a weird cycle. The government asks the Federal Reserve (a privately owned corporation) for money - the Fed Reserve prints more money in exchange for Government bonds and lends the money to the Government at interest. The Government, in debt now b/c they owe the Fed Reserve the principle loaned plus interest, distribute this money to the masses thereby devaluing the money already in circulation.
So, the government taxes its citizens --- on the money that the government gave them --- to pay back their debt to the Federal Reserve that WILL NEVER GO AWAY.
I think it was 1913 when our monetary system changed from the Gold Standard to being a simple note (cash used to say "this is redeemable in gold" and now says "this note is legal tender for all debts, public and private" [the word DEBT is printed on our f*cking money]) - money is worthless, and the more of it that's printed, the more worthless it becomes.

Congress and the State Houses will spend every cent of tax revenue, and then some. If they were to get an extra fifty billion trillion gazillion dollars, they would steal and squander it pretty quickly.

That is somewhat true. Republicans seem to love war and weapons manufacturers. Democrats seem to love giving buckets of money to undeserving people withpout even requesting they do anything to earn or deserve it. And both parties like to live high on the hog at taxpayer expense. If you think that I have little love or respect for either party, you're right. corrupt politician

You should move down to Jamaica, a country in which those who have the most - the wealthy, owner-class - never have to pay any taxes since they control the legislature and therefore the tax laws.

It's also a country where there's no middle class due to the owner-class (the only group in Jamaican society that actually makes enough money to be taxed) never paying any taxes and therefore there's no money available to build the necessary infrastructure to create a larger economy in which more people could be employed who would then pay more taxes to build more infrastructure so more people could be employed so . . . well, you know.

In addition, since there's no one paying any taxes, the government has no money and therefore has little power to enforce the laws. On top of that, since most people are poor and have no chance of making any money legitimately most turn to various forms of crime, which the government - due to lack of revenue - has no power to pay police an adequate salary which not only means lax enforcement but also high levels of corruption among the police which leads to police-operated extortion rings and roving bands of violent criminals who both then prey on tourists (one of the only good sources of business revenue) and the rich themselves who wind-up having to l...

This situation is not a natural phenomenon, it's one due to the political and economic conditions inherent in a post-colonial society where the owner-class owes its well-off position to the former colonial powers that directly ruled the country and still exercise control through its economic ties the the owner-class.

Nations like this are generally known as third-world countries. It's a land where a few are fantastically rich in the midst of scarcity, and corruption, poverty and brutality are the rule.

But, hey! Taxes are low, government is weak and there's no such thing as welfare. You should love it.
