We've all been thinking it for quite some time, but now, people are trying to make it official. A petition up on the White House website aims to define the Westboro Baptist Church -- the religious institution that often protests funerals with the all-too-familiar controversial picket signs -- as a hate group.

The petition, which was created on December 14, has gotten about 250,000 signatures (and counting) -- which makes it the largest online White House petition in history! Petitions need 25,000 signatures to be reviewed by the administration.

The Wesboro Baptist Church's latest news-making action has been its attempt to picket various vigils for those who died at the recent Sandy Hook massacre. One church member, below, said God sent the Sandy Hook shooter to Connecticut because the state had legalized same-sex marriage. Do you think the Westboro Baptist Church is a hate group?

DAILYMAIL.CO.UK reports:
Nearly 250,000 people have signed a White House petition that would label Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group after its members announced plans to picket a vigil for children killed in the Newtown, Connecticut school massacre.

I mean, I don't think ANY church should get tax breaks but I don't really see how this group can call themselves a church.

You would think Christians would be horrified by the way these people represent them. This is not going to win anyone over to religion if they were on the fence.

I mean, they may not fit the definition of hate group because they have not physically harmed anyone to our knowledge but at the same time, they proselatize hate, so they are a group that ...hates.

They are free to believe in whatever stupidity they like but they need to keep it within the walls of their "church." When they start picketing funerals and messing in the lives of normal people is when they cross the line.

Here are a few quotes from Hitler on the use of "Big Lie" propaganda to sway public opinion. The next time you see a negative news againt Christians, you might spot one of his techniques:
The size of [a] lie is a definite factor in causing it to be believed, for the vast masses of a nation are in the depths of their hearts more easily deceived than they are consciously and intentionally bad. The primitive simplicity of their minds renders them a more easy prey to a big lie than a small one, for they themselves often tell little lies but would be ashamed to tell big ones.
Something therefore always remains and sticks from the most impudent lies, a fact which all bodies and individuals concerned with the art of lying in this world know only too well, and hence they stop at nothing to achieve this end.
Propaganda must not serve the truth, especially not insofar as it might bring out something favorable for the oppo- nent.
Through clever and constant applica- tion of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way round, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise.

If Satan exists and was crafty, the best thing he could do to create anarchy, misery, hatred, war and turmoil would be to create religions, to have those religions hate!!!
Hate and kill infidels, take slaves, hate homosexuals, steal other peoples land under instruction from an imaginary divinity..... hmm..... does any of this sound familiar?

Homosexuals have made their propaganda strategies clear in two major documents. One is "The Overhauling of Straight America" pub- lished in Guide magazine, November, 1987. The other is a book-length expanded version of this Guide article called After the Ball: How America will conquer its fear & hatred of Gays in the 90s.
    .
Kirk and Pill say it is essential to undermine the moral authority of churches who oppose homo- sexuality by "muddying the moral waters." The objective is to get liberal churches to openly support homosexuality, while portraying conser- vative churches as "homophobic" and "badly out of step with the times and with the latest find-
    ings of psychology."
The authors caution against letting the American public be exposed to the truth about homosexual deviant behavior. "In the early stages of any campaign to reach straight America, the masses should not be shocked and repelled by prema- ture exposure to homosexual behavior itself. In- stead,
...the imagery of sex should be downplayed and gay rights should be reduced to an abstract social question as much as possible.

Homosexuals use lying propaganda, political power and fear tactics to confuse or silence their enemies. deceitfully changed by a masterful propaganda/ marketing campaign that rivals that of Adolf Hitler. In fact, many of the strategies used by homosexuals to bring about
cultural change in America are taken from Hit- ler's writings and propaganda warfare manuals.
Eric M. Pollard, a founder of ACT UP/D.C., says that ACT UP's philosophy was built upon the writings of Hitler in Mein Kampf. Pollard admitted this in an unusually candid article in the Washington Blade on January 31, 1991.

According to Pollard, "I have helped to create a truly fascist organization." Pollard says
"We conspired to bring into existence an activist group that ... could effectively exploit the me- dia for its own ends, and that would work cov- ertly and break the law with impunity... Under the influence of powerful, illicit drugs [LSD], it really seemed like a good idea." [2]
Pollard admits that ACT UP/DC believed it should use deliberately subversive tactics, "... drawn largely from the voluminous Mein Kampf, which some of us studied as a working model. As ACT UP/DC grew, we struck in- tently and surgically into whatever institutions we believed to stand in our way."

Comparing ‘The Religious Wrong’ to Hitler!
Mitchell then talked about a website www.wiredstrategies.com/Hitler which compares religious people to Hitler and the Nazis. The website contains headlines such as:
"Nazi Anti-Jewish Speech vs. Religious Right Anti-Gay Speech: Are They Similar?" The site shows a side-by-side comparison of Nazi propaganda against Jews during WWII with the "Christian anti-gay movement" of today saying:
"...are fundamentalist Christians using anti-gay arguments that echo back to the Nazi era?" This page compares quotes from The Eternal Jew with Christian conservatives’ modern-day quotes about gay Americans.

Mitchell spoke of religious people, hatred, homophobia, religion and the religious wrong as though each word were synonymous, interchanging religion and the Religious Wrong with Hitler, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and even the murder of Matthew Sheppard.

Make gays look good. Homosexuals should be portrayed not only as "Everyman" but as ac-
tually morally superior to het- erosexuals. Kirk and Pill urge the use of celebrity en- dorsements and a listing of fa- mous homo- sexuals in his- tory to show that homosexu- als are actually superior in many ways to he terosexuals. "In no time, ... a skillful and
clever media campaign could have the gay community looking like the veritable fairy godmother to Western Civilization."

    NOT ASKING FOR ANY PERMISSION!!
do you also mean permisson to child sex?

The homosexual magazine Guide published a pro-pedophile editorial in its July, 1995 issue. In referring to pedophiles as “prophets” of sexual freedom, the Guide editorialist wrote: “We must listen to our prophets. Instead of fearing being labeled pedophiles, we must proudly proclaim that sex is good, including children’s sexuality. . . . Surrounded by pious moralists with deadening anti-sexual rules, we must be shameless rulebreakers, demonstrating our allegiance to a higher concept of love. We must do it for the children’s sake.

We can be proud that the gay movement has been home to the few voices who have had the courage to say out loud that children are naturally sexual, that they deserve the right to sexual expression with whoever they choose. … We cannot, however, always be proud of the way we as a community have treated our prophets. … [W]e must listen to our prophets. Instead of fearing being labeled pedophiles, we must proudly proclaim that sex is good, including children’s sexuality

Typical tactic of religious bigots. the way they try to demonise and ostricise gays is to equate them with peadophiles so they are reviled.

The problem with this argument is that there are at least ten times more heterosexuals than homosexuals and propotionally the same amont per capita of peadophiles in each group. Nessisarily then, there are ten times more peadophiles in the straight community as the gay.

The rest of the gay and straight population are equally revolted by the practice. Considering that it is a favoured practice of the religious and the Church, I don't think religionists are in any position to condemn anybody!

    OH, is this your mentor?

A homosexual activist, writing under the pen name of Michael Swift, looked to the day when homosexuals would control our culture. He challenged heterosexual society with these words:

We shall sodomize your sons, emblems of

your feeble masculinity, of your shallow

dreams and vulgar lies. … Your sons shall

become our minions to do our bidding.

They will be recast in our image. They will

come to crave and adore us.

All churches who condemn us will be

closed. Our holy gods are handsome young

men. We adhere to a cult of beauty, moral

and esthetic. All that is ugly and vulgar

and banal will be annihilated. Since we are

    alienated from middle-class heterosexual

conventions, we are free to live our lives

according to the dictates of the pure imagination.

For us, too much is not enough.

    Too much is not enough.

Christianity, Islam and Judaism are all hate groups battling for dominance. They have collectively killed countless millions for over 2000 years. The hate will never stop until these 3 religions and their various sects are abolished once and for all. They all claim to teach peace, but they breed nothing but hatred. They are truly wolves in sheep's clothing.

the thing is, they aren't actually twisting biblical scripture, they're reading it the way it was written. or at least the way it was translated into english.the people with 'twisted interpretations' are the ones who oppose gay marriage because the bible does, but they also oppose social programs that would help the needy. the mythical jesus was so communist he makes karl marx look like a republican. it's a damn good thing jesus is just a myth, 'cause he'd be pissed at how people are using his name to justify hate.
