War is not stupid. It is sometimes a very necessary means of fighting evil.
Should the world have let Hitler continue his killing of Jews and conquering Europe? Should the United States allowed the South to succeed and continuing enslaving blacks? Should we have let Japan continue bombing our country?
As it has been said, "war is hell". It is not pretty, it is brutal and it is sometimes needed.
Is WAR stupid

No let's ....

I like the Kennedy one too, I think it speaks to the very heart of why we are saddled with war after war, and why what Thoreau says remains true to this day
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
~John Stuart Mills~
if two people are having a fight then the fight is between the two people and no one else.
now if these two people are country leaders then it should be a fight in a independant court of law where both sides persent their own reasonings and the court can deciede who is right or wrong.
the only thing war produces is who's left alive are the murdering has taken place.
War has never resovled right or wrong only who is still strong enough to force terms over the weaker one
1942?
so that leaves the two arrigant country leaders to have to kill eachother am I right?
which would also mean millions of people would not be murder for some fools disagreement would you agree?
now tell me does war result in death and destruction of countries and peoples live's for many years to come ?..... or do you believe this is something to be goryifed?
I do know of the wars held and recorded in the bible which makes the bible more valid in truth as it told both good and bad deeds done under God's push to free humans from satan's yoke here on earth.
the question is are you as honest in your dealings with humans as the bible is?
Read the lyrics
Yes.
To the people who make money from it, hand over fist, its just 'good business.'
I will build a schoolhouse in every valley over the whole Earth.
I will crown every hillside with a place of worship, consecrated to peace."
~ Charles Sumner
Even Jesus left clues to the widsom of the world.

At times war has stopped a greater of two evils. Its an adversarial activity and usually it is the one with the most will and stronger military prevails. Wars/conflict/'state murder' stopped World War Two, saved lives in Sierra Leone, Kosovo/Bosnia.
Right or wrong can be is subjective not objective. Victory can and often does produce tangible benefits not only for an individual (leader) but a nation(s).
And yes... if one states that:
"This is just the way it is, this is the way it will ALWAYS be..." without even trying to change anything, that's the very definition of complacency.
('Always' is a really long time.)
If we all thought like that (and had 'always' thought like that), fire and the wheel would never have been invented.

No one gets to 'dictate' what I think about.
