Is voting for Mitt out of fear of Obama winning the Christian thing to do?

It has been quiet common for the terms: anybody but Obama, if you don't vote for Mitt you are voting for Obama, not voting is a vote for Obama, ect; in order to try and force people to vote for Mitt Romney instead of voting for third party or not voting at all.

What this comes down to, is that anyone that falls for these type of arguments are voting for Mitt Romney out of fear for Obama winning. This is what I termed a fear vote. So the question is: is voting out of fear the Christian thing to do.

Well in order to answer that question we must look at some bible versus.

2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Romans 8:15
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

1 John 4:8
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fearinvolves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

So clearly one must not make decisions based on the fear of man, but we are suppose to based on the fear of God. So no it is not the Christian thing to do to vote for Mitt out of fear of Obama. If you are a Christian and are going to vote for Mitt Romney should not be voting for him because you fear Obama, but because he is a reasonable person to vote for biblically. Now if you can resolve that he is a biblically acceptable candidate you have plenty of reason to vote for Mitt. But those of you out there trying to get people to vote for Mitt by the methods mentioned above you are using unChristian like tactics.

    LMAO...

First they accuse blacks voting for Obama because of skin color... Now they want to vote for Mitt out of fear... fear of what? A black man getting re-elected? LMAO.

Now here comes all the racists claiming this is racist... yet they had no fear of labeling blacks as racists for not voting for a white man...

LMAO... I could go on forever on this tripe.

It sure is. While Romney is not a Christian because he does not believe in Jesus, at least the God is the same.
Obama wants me dead, either because he is a Moslem or because he listened to the Most Reverend Wright's 20 years of hate. Allah is a god, but not the God.

I agree that the GOP sucks and I dislike Romney but obama is doing too much harm to the country. He's been a master at division! Yep.........he's divided the country right down the middle and never the twain shall meet as long as he's in the WH.

Jesus commanded his followers to do right, not wrong. So of course choosing the right way, by voting for a man who won't force taxpayers to foot the bill for killing babies before birth, is the Christian thing to do.

But Jesus not to fear man.

    Matthew 10:28

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

So this is the problem I am having with this fear vote. We should not be voting against anyone but should be voting for someone.

I will vote for Gov. Romney because he is a man of good character, has proven leadership experience, proven management experience, a record of accomplishments and success, and proven economic success. He is not a professional politician who has spent their life slurping at the public trough; in fact he took no salary as Gov of Mass; took no salary for his position with the Olympics and has given more to charity in one year than most people will make in a lifetime (and has done so for many years.)

He has all the experience and qualities we desperately need to begin the task of fiscal stability . It will take many, many years for us to reach fiscal sanity but he will be a step in the right direction.

I do not care why others vote for him nor will I judge their reasons for doing so - I hope they will just vote for him

It is you that knows nothing about Romney. Educate yourself. The more I find out about him the more I admire his character. I admire a man that works for the people of his state for 4 years without taking any compensation. I admire a man that donates his entire compensation from the Olympics to charity. I admire a man that donates his inheritance to charity because he doesn't need it because he is a self made man that makes his own living. I admire a man that supports his wife through her battle with breast cancer and supports her more in her battle with MS. He is a man of character, where Obama hasn't an ounce of character in his whole body.

Aiding and abetting criminals in government is not a Christian thing to do whether it be the Clinton's, the Bush's, Obama or Romney.

Romans 13:1-2 is often greatly misunderstood. Many Christians interpret this passage of Scripture to mean that we should offer unquestioning obedience to government, even if it's an evil and corrupt government. This is simply not true. Most people fail to consider verse 3, "For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil." Clearly, God is speaking about GOOD government in Romans 13... because they are a terror to evil works, i.e., crimes. But what happens when our government becomes a terror in itself, committing blatant heinous crimes before our very eyes? The Word of God commands us to submit to HONEST government. So why do so many pastors today attempt to lead their congregations into unquestioning loyalty and submission to criminals in The White House? Do you think this pleases the Lord?

If our elected leaders are STEALING trillions of dollars (video) from U.S. citizens, and giving contracts to child-molesting corporations, and covering up what really happened in the 911 attacks, and building concentration camps for Americans, and exploiting our children as paid mercenaries, and attacking innocent nations in our name (and...

The average churchgoer today is totally brainwashed, and thinks that it's wrong to speak out against criminal government. Wake up! When a government's leaders commit CRIMES against it's citizens, there is a cry for justice. Anyone who enjoys their American freedoms today cannot argue this point, because American was founded on the American REVOLUTION! I am not for anarchy, I am for justice!

Are you foolish enough to willingly surrender your freedoms? Don't you realize that's how you end up becoming enslaved to a totalitarian police state? Thank God for reasonable men like Congressman Ron Paul, who is trying to wake the America people up concerning the forming police state. Most Christians think it can't happen here. It's a shame that secular politicians have more sense than most of America's pastors and Christian leaders!

Christians are so gullible today. The average Christian has forever engrained in their mind images of pot-smoking long-haired hippies from the 1960's. The truth is that MOST protesters today are respectable U.S. citizens, who aren't hippies, who know exactly why they're upset with their government. Yet, it's convenient for America's pastors and Christian leaders to label all protesters as "rebels." Nothing could be further from the truth. It's tragic that the Devil has duped today's believers into thinking that it's rebellion for Christians to RISE UP AGAINST THE EVILDOERS, and to STAND UP AGAINST THE WORKERS OF INIQUITY as Psalm 94:16 asks us to do? Yes, we are commanded to obey government, which is ordained of God; but we have a right to revolt when our government starts committing crimes against us (and if our founding fathers didn't believe this, then there WOULDN'T be a free United States today).

We are to submit to government as a general rule, for this is pleasing to the Lord (Romans 13:1-3). God does hate rebellion against authority (Jude 1:8-10); however, as citizens of the United States, we are entitled to ask questions of our government. We pay their salaries. If our government leaders lie to us, hide the truth, and deal deceitfully with us--then we have a God-given right to demand justice. If we don't get justice, then we have a right to take the necessary steps to change government. If you don't believe this, then you are saying that our founding fathers sinned by revolting against the tyrannical rule of England. I know this article will likely offend many Christians, because the average believer today has been brainwashed to submit to authority at all costs, even if it means being victimized and criminalized by that authority. We must say NO to government national ID cards, surveillance, collecting of personal information, and other infringements upon our personal freedoms. If you don't believe me, then please listen to the honorable Congressman Ron Paul. http://www.jesus-is-savior.co...

Just like I recently had a black guy use his racism and say he is voting for obama for the same reason he did last time. Because obama is Black. The same reasoning that had had people that did not know my SO on here calling her a racist for for not supporting obama. Yet they did not know she is Black, Mexican and Native American. She felt last time as she does this time he is just plain unqualified. Just like I had people on here that ere Black and obama supporters that I use my biracial children from my first marriage as a screen to hide my racism and that I really hated them because they are half Black.
