Political Outcast: A recent Washington Post poll showed that “74 percent of Americans favor government-issued photo ID mandates at polling places.” This meant little to CNN because the network, whose ratings are in the proverbial toilet, ignored those numbers “in six separate segments on voter ID laws.”

A majority of Americans believe that showing identification is simply common sense when identification is necessary to identify someone. When it comes to voting, liberals are incensed that anyone would have to prove who they are. If we were all saints, and a person’s word could be trusted, then showing an ID would be unnecessary. But that would be true for all types of calls for identification.

There has only been 13 cases of voter fraud in the past decade. WTF is this really about?

It is hard to detect voter fraud and many cases, hundreds have been uncovered but it is difficult to individually prosecute. When I signed up to play little League baseball I had to present a Birth Certificate and mine was a legitimate not a copy. I was a poor white cracker as some still describe us today, the rich and poor had to present the same documentation and no one called this racial or social class attacks. I ask you then this one question, what is wrong having proof who you are when voting for the most powerful Position on Earth or and position that represents all Legal Americans. The fight against voter identification is by ignorant marxist supporting Radicals. The identification is for protection from fraud and abuse from both parties, what fear you then, the video is inaccurate, do a little digging and you people will uncover the rest off the story. Then we should set up a free service at all DMV locations for people to get a simple picture ID. And once more Americans have done so then we can enact a law requiring they bring it with them on election day. But Republicans wanting to enact a law just a couple of months before an election is irresponsible. If they really cared about this issue they should have brought it up at least 2 years before an election so we can think of how to implement it so we don't disenfranchise so many people.

The Democrats don't want it because it slams the door on cheating. I can get a duplicate birth certificate tomorrow no problem and have my original one of course I was born in Iowa in "52". In person voter fraud in nearly non-existent in the US. What little that does exist is almost always through mail in ballots. Something Voter ID does not stop.

So many people will bring up cases of "Dead Voters" or "illegal immigrants" voting, but in simple truths, these have little to no effect on real elections.

The fact is, you will be making it more difficult for legal, legitimate voters to vote, and even if voter fraud were that big of a problem, the amount of voters you'd be disenfranchising would still greatly outnumber that of the "false voters".

As typical, the GOP tactic as of these last few years is to address a problem that isn't really that big of a problem, and blow it out of proportion so that no one notices that their solution is doing more harm than good.

Proper, legal ID. It's not just for voting. It's the "responsible" thing to do.

If we CANNOT or WILL NOT ensure the validity of a single vote, then we're toast as a sovereign Nation.
