Obie can't campaign on his plans for fixing this mess because has no plan. In fact, to hear his most recent speech, every person who has created a business and hired people did so ONLY because of the Government. The same government that is breaking us, can't pass a budget and demands Congress pass HIS tax plan that he hasn't written or presented to Congress.

No, to the main subject of the article lined. I am not surprised. People are frightened, scared, frustrated, angry and at the end of their ropes and children tend to catch that because they don't understand and parents dangling by a thread easily snap.

Even with food stamps, the price of food is constantly going up and instead of lasting the mo, they last half a mo.

I eat no fats or cholest or sugar. Be careful of expired foods.

And ALL of the news channels are hyping the drought as the reason food is about to go up , WAY UP.

Guess they don't want to talk about the double dip recession obie has created and the HYPER inflation that causes.

Yeppers, and the numbers of "breaking records"-WELL, that has been grossly overstated. What a LOT of the climatologists are doing is using the heat indeces numbers for record comparisons, against actual temps to JACK UP the "records" in order to help strengthen the global warming case.

Not surprising given the present White House administration's belief that a baby is punishment. The atmosphere breeds child abuse. And abortion itself is the most extreme form of it.

I noticed when I read the article that under Reagan it started a decline and continue through Clinton and into Bush's first half then it increased....now I know that Sept 11th put a lot of strain on the American people but the thing that really stood out was the fact that it DOUBLED at the same time all the "Hate Bush" crap started, and it has continue to rise since that time. Obama and the Congressional Democrats promised to be another Reagan to bring Americans together, lower the national debt....you know a utopia but what we got was a living hell on earth. People bring thrown out of their homes and no jobs, both known contributors to high stress as well as substance abuse. In the federal unionized indoctrination centers aka schools our children are taught that you don't have to listen or respect your parents so children feel that they can do and/or say whatever they want. Lethal combination and it is usually the little ones that suffer.

And we call ourselves civilized people...what a joke.

Pat is one of my all time favs and i love that song. Great choice! Yes, kids are really suffering. The food pantries can't keep up as the ppl that used to donate are now suffering too. It's so bad ppl are selling their kids and worse. It was on 20/20 about a guy that killed his wife and 3 kids as he could no longer afford them..

I know about the Food Pantry here as i work it and it is almost bare. I took some food up there today, barely can afford to fed myself but I can't stand to see children to go without.

I donate $3,000 a yr to 3 pantries.

It is so sad the little ones think they are at a store. One time a little girl asked her mother is she could have ice cream but the pantry doesn't have any refrigeration so of course the answer was no. I was so heart broken so i gave the little girl a $20 and told the mother to go get her some goodies. You had to see the little girls face. She was overwhelmed that she had some money. I had to go out to my car to cry. The mother was 19 and covered with tats and piercings..and preggers. grrrrrrr

omg...now I am tearing up! We are fortunate enough to have refrigeration/freezers.

These are thrift shops with walk in closets where they put the food but they can't fit or run freezers. They figure ppl can use their food stamps for cold stuffs.

I ONLY donate to Brown Bags for Seniors. ONLY that one program. I have seen first hand the abuses the people commit to get food from the programs here. Call me cynical, but when a "family" is signed up for united way food bank assistance and food stamps, and use all of that stuff to get the food for the restaurant they run-NO WAY will I support it again.

But I applaud ANYONE who donates, works at, helps support any food program that is well managed and actually helps those who need it most.

Yes, i only donate to the food pantries as i know for sure they buy food and give only food. Sometimes i think i am the only one giving. These ppl eat a lot of Rahman noodles. They are cheap and filling, they throw some canned veggies in with them and at least it is some nourishment..

What ever works. Sadly, a lot of families here will refuse Ramen noodles-calling them "cheap". Guess they are too finicky for the FREE food bank.

In the town next to me there was something going on where they were paying for ppls utility bills, but only for the first 100 ppl there. well it turned out they only had enough for 50, so of course 200 showed up and there were some ass kicking going on. It was on the news. I wish someone would pay my damn utility bills!

Me too. I keep my house at about 83 degrees to keep the electric bill down. But the public housing, welfare dwelling section 8 scabs get subsidized, low rate electric.

A/C i do not skimp on. I keep mine on 78 and it's nice and cold in my house.
