This is the first I've ever seen that clip. It's unfortunate - I have a lot of respect for Reagan. In this case, though, he was wrong. So is Obama. There's nothing "fair" about making some people pay more than others for the same services.

No wonder 0bozo latched onto the phrase 'fair share'.

The big difference is, Reagan used those words as part of a speech and 0bozo repeats it every other sentence.

Has anyone defined what a "fair share" is? Does the top 10% paying 70% of all Federal taxes seem 'fair'?

Does 0bozo ever mention that what he proposes only generates $85 Billion in 365 days of collection, the Federal govt. will burn through that in 8-1/2 days and he's currently adding $4 Billion per day in deficit spending himself?

Reagan also wasn't envisioning 50% of America not paying any Federal taxes whatsoever, and most of those getting extra money back they never earned to begin with.

Actually, it is a clear indication of why we should implement the flat tax. No tax cuts, on flat rate, everyone pays their fair share. If the top 20% make 30% of the wealth in the nation, they pay 30% of the taxes. Fair across the board.

As long as we have a "progressive" tax system, we will be taxed repressively.

I don't like Reagan, he is a Bohemian Grover.

Reagan stood up to the banks early on. That's why they had him shot. And he didn't back down because of his own health, but because of the ponies who could get hurt because of it. He started out as one of the good guys.
