yes, thats why we THE PEOPLE need to make our demands get met, not lip serviced. If that means we need to be the jury and the court so be it. It needs to be done. Nothing violent, just gather the masses
I do agree, often we're apathetic real issues because we don't want to leave our comfort behind and we feel compelled to focus on our everyday life rather than the big picture, meanwhile there are others out there thinking of how to control the big picture and if people don't want to do anything about that, they will certainly manage to get that control.
But most people on here have issues when it comes to who is being tyrannical.. Take the filibuster rule for one, why does a minority have the power to over-rule the majority.
Absolutely! We've seen it happen in Nazi Germany (which I am sometimes weary of talking about). It's the most remembered in American culture right now. Those who didn't speak out, ended up seeing their neighbors disappearing, their colleagues, and no one spoke up (except the resistance). Then apply it to the U.S. today: there will be no one to speak up when they come for you if you do not speak up now.
Einstein said it the best and with so much truth quote " The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything" unquote
Speak up give all you got in time to help your canidate or shut up of how it turns out !!!!If you did all you could and it did not turn out you can still be greatful you did your best !!!
Silence means implied consent. Guilty by omission rather than by commission. How many ways can you say, if you don't speak up against something it will be thought that you agree with what is going on.
The mistake many people make is to assume they are the ones with a good conscience and their values are the only values for America.
America was built by many people from all cultures, religions, theologies, perspectives and lifestyles and it works because we have diversity.
When ANY group starts thinking it has the right conscience and should dictate their conscience to others they have stepped across that line into tyranny!
Yes. Those who refuse to "get involved" and do the right thing are just as guilty as those who actually commit the tyranny. His words fit 100%. And many still refer to that statement or like it today.
Elections do not always create an equal and balanced system. If you put all people in the same state and let them vote it would but with an electoral college the election is always biased.
Our system has been corrupted by lobbyists and corporate money. The majority of people have lost all ability to influence the elections to a small 1% minority of wealthy corporations and lobbyists.
...& shutting down one another's voices when they disagree only adds fuel to that dangerous fire.
Blocking people here & on the street is just as dangerous. We have to hear what each other say... even when we disagree... nay, especially when we disagree.
You assume you are right and anyone that does not agree with you is wrong and a tyrant. What if you are wrong or if your opinion is not the majority opinion ?
I am not trying to force my opinions on anyone. I am simply asking to be allowed to be free. If you can't understand the difference, you shouldn't enter into the debate!

Then you become the tyrant right ?
