I see Obama spending 20 million dollars on advertising staying healthy to coordinate with Obama-care even though it will be overturned here in a couple of weeks. You think they should run caution and save the money for trying to pay down some debt

To funny coming from the most dishonest blogger on SH... I love when conservatives blame Frank or Pelosi for this mess. It seems alot of you are to ignorant to know that the House passed a bill in 2005 to regulate the GSE's it was the Senate that failed....lol
If it wasn't for deregulation of Wall St. that both parties pushed and that the GOP wrote along with Wall St. lobbiest we wouldn't be in the shape we're in today... Most of Obama's deficit is being fueled by Bush policies and the past recession....

Liberal loons that have no valid argument or any verifiable facts often call people like me dishonest, and also racist. They are equally BS.

Is this simple enough? People bought houses they could not afford. People defaulted on said houses that they could not afford. People looked for others to blame. People blamed banks, wall street and the federal government (of various political stripes) . The world went to hell in a hand basket. This is democracy folks, the buck stops with you.

Seems like you folks always forget buying into realtors idea that housing prices would never go down. After all they aren't making anymore. Get out a mirror and look in it. I don't care if you are a banker bailed out by Bush, an under water home buyer, a Fannie May Executive or even a Democrat, you are probably looking at one of the causes of the problem, because you bought the idea and acted accordingly.

Nothing is simple enough for a Liberal to understand, especially if it is presented by a conservative.
You may say that it is raining a lot lately to a Liberal. S/he will reply - man made climate change and it is acidic too - and go on to lecture you how the USA has been destroying the environment of the whole planet because of Conservative and Republican's love for the rich CEO's and hate for the poor and minorities implanted in the brains of average people by Republican propaganda.
Simple logic does not work for Liberals. Facts are relevant only if they further their convictions.

I'm not for Obama, NOT AT ALL, but he's not the first president to require that we buy something. George Washington, signed a bill mandating that ship owners purchase health insurance for seamen: "the Second Militia Act of 1792, required a significant percentage of the U.S. civilian population to purchase a long list of military equipment:" http://thinkprogress.org/poli... this was used by Attorney Ken Cucinelli in his arguments that Obamacare WAS Constitutional because there WAS a precedent set by a previous president.

But I (and I feel that most Americans DON'T WANT their federal government) telling them what to buy, that they must buy health insurance-or else. That kind of tyranny is what Washington and Adams and company we wanting to escape.

Come on let's get real. The Feds can tell you what income tax you will pay. What wars you will pay for, what drugs you can take etc. etc. Buying insurance will save us paying for all those people who can afford to but don't want it until something happens to them.

The structure of what the federal government can require of us is laid out in the Constitution; unfortunately, as time has gone on, we've allowed the federal government to grow and grow, getting 'to big for it's britches.'

"The Feds can tell you what income tax you will pay" Yes, the IRS sets the rate, but many contest that the IRS should have jursidiction and want the tax code revised. No easy chore, so the excuse is made-AND WE BUY THE EXCUSE- that it's too hard. TOUGH NOOGIES. We pay these people, including the POTUS the big bux to make the tough decisions.

"What wars you will pay for, what drugs you can take " The former is dictated by the federal government-but shouldn't be. We ought to be telling Washington what wars we'll pay for. As far as the drugs we can take. That is dictated by the insurance companies and us and the federal government should not be in the 'business' of this kind of thing. Our current President just committed us to Afghanistan until 2024. He made a deal with Karzi to the tune of several billion dollars a WEEK. Were the American people consulted by the 'Great One?'

"Buying insurance will save us .." Buying insurance, being required to purchase insurance will only succed in one thing. Putting more people out of work. Companies which have OFFERED insurance in the past, will now be required to foot the bill or be penalized for not offering it. Many will see the BUSINESS sense in paying the penalty instead of being mandated to buy insurance. If they pay the penalty, that is less money in workers hands and there is one less job that they can offer.

And you can place that at the feet of the Congress and the Speaker of the House. They passed debt ceiling many, many times, for Republican presidents but now they wanted Obama to look bad, That admitted (ala Rush) they want him to fail so they can have all the power again. It has nothing to do with what is good for America or Americans.
