Should we run off a list of the tens of thousands of scientists, who actually study the disciplines which would prove or disprove the biblical story of creation?
Look, I don't think I'm smarter than anyone, just because they are a Christian. I've done my research and it has led me to the conclusion that there is no god. If you've done your own study and reached the opposite conclusion, I respect that.
What I don't respect, is people, from either side, who think that their belief on this topic makes them MORALLY superior to those who disagree. In this country, we disagree on everything from abortion to the undeniable fact that the St.Louis Cardinals are miles more awesome than that other team up I-55. These disagreements can be intense, but do not have to make the people holding these differing opinions morally or even intellectually superior to one another. We just disagree. Wild Bill is a douchebag, but not because I think he's wrong. He's a douchebag because he thinks my beliefs are nothing but a rebellion. He doesn't know me, anymore than he knows the millions of other atheists in this country. And his beliefs don't make him more patriotic either. He's a self-important prick, and the only case he has made against my beliefs; is in the fact that natural selection hasn't claimed HIM yet.

Atheists are snobs? Frankly I would never bring up the discussion of religion if religious people would stop jamming it down our throats, and making blue laws that have no basis in reason or logic that affect everyone, just because it's the religion you happened to be born in.

You'll find that's the case with a lot of us. We react the way we do to religious people because we're put in a position where we have to react. If you respected that our country was founded on secularism (NOT atheism, as idiots like Limbaugh would have you believe), we wouldn't feel a need to voice our disagreement.

He believes what he believes, you may not like it but it doesn't make him a moron. You are an atheist and a progressive and you are an intolerant jackass but in my opinion you have the right to be just that since it obviously makes you happy.

I don't believe it either but I don't fault him for his beliefs, we're all different but being different does not make him a moron.

True, being different does not qualify for being a moron. Believing in invisible magic people in the sky with no evidence to support their existence, that does qualify as a moron.

Some would call it faith, I call it foolishness, but I still wouldn't call the man a moron because he believes in what he believes. That is complete intolerance and you should know better.

What makes him a moron, isn't that he believes in god, despite no evidence to support that view. What makes him a moron is that he thinks those who differ from him are rebeling rather than reaching their conclusions intelligently. What makes him a jackass is that he assumes that everyone who has reached a different conclusion than his, is self-righteous and arrogant; as if those two adjectives don't describe himself perfectly.
Reasonable people can disagree. But this guy isn't interested in reason. He's interested in hypocritically ridiculing the other side.

American Atheist is overtly militant. This is his post. I simply respond when appropriate. if he did not wish to draw attention to theis Wild Bill,he shouldn't have done it. Wild Bill gave plenty of facts in his disertation. American Atheist gave NONE! Besides, I have not seen any evidence from fossils that would disprove the Bible account to be false. In fact, the fossil evidence bolsters the Biblecal account of creation when you factor in the great flood. All of the evolutionary models admit that a catastrophy was necessary to create fossils and the great flood fits that model. I cannot prove their is a God who created it all, but I don't have too. Apparently, American Atheist is troubled enough about his own doubts, that he must attempt to make those who believe in creation look silly. He is failing to make anyone look silly except himself!
