Is there any proof that God doesn't exist?

Atheists love to ask those who believe in God to provide proof. Do atheists have any evidence that disproves the existence of God?

Even if it is not conclusive evidence, I would ask them to present that evidence here for discussion.

I fully understand that asking someone to prove a negative is "unfair" and I know my question leans that way. I did not intend this to be a "trick" question, I simply wanted to know if the decision that atheist make to deny the existence of God is based on anything other than their theoretical conjecture.

Is there anythiing other than conjecture that you considered when forming your conclusion?

The professor of a university challenged his students with this question. "Did God create everything that exists?" A student answered bravely, "Yes, he did".

The professor then asked, "If God created everything, then he created evil. Since evil exists (as noticed by our own actions), so God is evil. The student couldn't respond to that statement causing the professor to conclude that he had "proved" that "belief in God" was a fairy tale, and therefore worthless.

Another student raised his hand and asked the professor, "May I pose a question? " "Of course" answered the professor.

The young student stood up and asked : "Professor does Cold exists?"

The professor answered, "What kind of question is that? ...Of course the cold exists... haven't you ever been cold?"

The young student answered, "In fact sir, Cold does not exist. According to the laws of Physics, what we consider cold, in fact is the absence of heat. Anything is able to be studied as long as it transmits energy (heat). Absolute Zero is the total absence of heat, but cold does not exist. What we have done is create a term to describe how we feel if we don't have body heat or we are not hot."

Darkness is in fact simply the absence of light. Light can be studied, darkness can not. Darkness cannot be broken down. A simple ray of light tears the darkness and illuminates the surface where the light beam finishes. Dark is a term that we humans have created to describe what happens when there's lack of light."

Finally, the student asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?" The professor replied, "Of course it exists, as I mentioned at the beginning, we see violations, crimes and violence anywhere in the world, and those things are evil."

The student responded, "Sir, Evil does not exist. Just as in the previous cases, Evil is a term which man has created to describe the result of the absence of God's presence in the hearts of man."

After this, the professor bowed down his head, and didn't answer back.

    SINCE THERE IS ONLY "ONE GOD WHO CREATED THE UNIVERSE".......1 COR 8:5-7;

AND YOU SAY THAT "NOTHING CREATED THE UNIVERSE". THEN MATHEMATICALLY,

    YOU ARE IN ERROR.

BECAUSE GOD THE FATHER=1.....................AND ZERO OR NOTHING FROM (1),

STILL EQUALS (1).......................SO "SOMEONE" DID CREATE THE UNIVERSE.

It's a wonderful STORY, and nothing more. Some Facts about Einstein and that STORY indicates that Albert Einstein was NOT involved:

In his Autobiographical Notes, Einstein states that his "deep religiosity" as a Jewish child ended at the age of 12 when he developed a skeptical attitude towards a personal God that he continued throughout his life. 1

On 1954-MAR-24, Einstein answered a letter from a stranger stating:
"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." 2

The Urban Legends Reference Pages comments that Einstein's name:
"... gets used in legends whose plots call for a smart person, one whom the audience will immediately recognize as such (e.g. modern tellings of an ancient legend about a learned rabbi who switches places with his servant feature Albert Einstein in the role of esteemed scholar). Likewise, "the atheist professor" is a figure common to a number of urban legends and anecdotes of the faithful — he gets flung into the mix where there's a need for someone to play the role of Science Vanquished in Science-versus-Religion tales. ...

He's a stereotype, not an actual person. He exists to be knocked over by the persuasive arguments of the faithful in yarns about theology successfully defended. 3

    Does God exist?
No, it is the absence of complete knowledge.

God/Religion has been often used to explain the unexplainable. The Greeks used Poseidon to explain how earthquakes happened (which we now know is due to the movement of tectonic plates). What happens when we can prove, and you can't deny, the Big Bang theory and Evolution, which both have such large amounts of logic behind them that it's hard to deny that they are true. (This is called "The God of the gaps" factor)

This made me think back to when I was 2 years old and confronted my grandfather, who was a monster of a man and could have easily crushed me. He(my grandfather) didn't want to go to Sunday service with us, and I said "Grandfather, look at the birds, the trees and the sky and then come in and tell me there is no God." He shut up pretty doggone quick. He still didn't go with us, but I had made my point very clear.

You don't need to DISPROVE the existence of ANYTHING. Its the existence that must be proven. Where did you get your proof that god exists? From a book? Pretty flimsy evidence. There are lots of books.

Yep, that's their tried and untrue argument. It's also usually coupled with some fairy-tale or, in this case, "Bigfoot" reference.

It's all fine and well if atheists don't want to believe in God due to lack of proof. But when they make the claim of, "God doesn't not exist", that burden of proof is shifted to them.

THE PROOF THAT GOD DOES NOT EXIST IS THE LACK OF PROOF THAT HE EXISTS.

Try this: The old testament is filled with events called 'miracles' - many of which are corroborated through physics and other secular historical writings. The point being that they are physical events with no evidence of divine intervention. The new testament is filled with David Blaine-quality miracles - Events that defy the laws of physics - from walking on water to changing the molecular structure of inanimate objects. None of these events are corroborated by anything - anywhere. Then there is the existence of FOSSILS to consider, which contradict the writings in your book. The book itself is its own proof that god does not exist.

I am not religious, but definitely believe in God. I find it hard to believe that anyone who studies biology does not believe in God. One does not have to disbelieve in evolution in order to believe in our Creator. Evolution is a proven fact. All things evolve, meaning they change. My creator provided the elements, evolution, and brains to study same and learn same. Science didn't invent any of these things, and it is childish to think all this wondrous nature built itself. Even the planets order and rotation spells "creator" to me. Gravity and the absence of spells "creator" to me. Life itself spells "creator".

Others can of course have their own opinions, but I'll bet dollars to donuts that people who can accept the existence of a creator are a LOT happier and positive thinking than those who are unable to just accept this belief.
