Politics got personal on Wednesday when Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen accused Mitt Romney's wife, Ann Romney, of having "never worked a day in her life." It moved Mrs. Romney to send her first tweet ever ("I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work"), setting off a debate over the decision to work or stay home. But The Christian Science Monitor is calling it a "fake" debate.

Ann told Fox News, "[Rosen] should have come to my house when those five boys were causing so much trouble, it wasn’t so easy. My career choice was to be a mother. And I think all of us need to know that we need to respect the choices that women make. Other women make other choices to have a career and raise a family, which I think Hilary Rosen has actually done herself. I respect that, that's wonderful... We have to respect women in all those choices that they make."

But Rosen is sticking to her guns, and responded to the criticism in a CNN editorial: "I have no judgments about women who work outside the home versus women who work in the home raising a family. I admire women who can stay home and raise their kids full time. I even envy them sometimes. It is a wonderful luxury to have the choice. But let's stipulate that it is not a choice that most women have in America today." We're not sure if Hilary Rosen or Ann Romney wins this debate, but that's not really the point. Do you think these kinds of feuds are real -- or just manufactured to get a vote in politics?

Any woman who says "manufactured" probably hasn't worked where men were favored and paid more than women, while the women were carrying the load. The rest of the "manufactured" vote was probably by men.

If you believe that women have been institutionally paid less than a man, got to the EEOC. that is what it is for. Any woman who has been discriminated against SHOULD do something about it. Women deserve to be paid the same for the same work, every day, every hour.

Don't just complain, do something about it. This from a very very conservative man who believes that all women should be paid what they deserve.

The only problem is that when the work is being done for labor attorneys, they can find some little thing to to say it wasn't the same work. That's what they learn in those three extra years in college! LOL Oh well, I retired, so let them figure out now who was the truly valuable employee! As for me, I'm having a ball!

Jackie, as an employer I can guarantee, from experience, that the deck is so staked against business and towards the "lowly" worker that there is no chance that the employee wouldn't win any case brought against them. Only huge companies, such as Boeing have the resources to do anything about it.

Both sides, though the media has its favorite. Anyone who does not think a woman has a right to choose to give birth is against women--this I have always believed. And, anyone who thinks any women who have the means to be stay-at-home moms is most especially against women. Mrs Romney has the means to stay at home and raise 5 boys. Good for her, for it means her kids are less likely to become a problem in society. I admire her stance a lot more than the likes of crazed Octumom and her litter of children living off welfare, as well as the crazed single parent to 7 children (probably from 7 different fathers) who spends all her money on LOTTO tickets. We need good mothers, not irresponsible breeders.

All one has to do is look at how those on the right are trying to defund Planned Parenthood and how they are limiting access to a woman's right to end her pregnancy if she sees fit. They are even attacking access to birth control.

Babies are not aborted. The majority of abortions are preformed before the fetus' nervous system is fully devoloped therefore, it cannot feel pain.

Nice try, but you are wrong. The " mass of cells", as liberals like to call it , is actually a baby with every thing needed to develop into a complete human. What "right" should a woman have to kill it simply because she couldn't keep her legs together. I would rather be for the rights of the unborn child who cannot speak for herself.

Maybe just maybe the problem of unplanned pregnancy could be avoided altogether with sex ed for teens (in todays world even preteens) teaching abstinence first and foremost but if you won't abstain these are your birth control options. If we don't give them true information they might just believe the myths and half truths their friends and sig others put out there.....u can't get preg your 1st time, in water, in xyz position etc.
