Politics got personal on Wednesday when Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen accused Mitt Romney's wife, Ann Romney, of having "never worked a day in her life." It moved Mrs. Romney to send her first tweet ever ("I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work"), setting off a debate over the decision to work or stay home. But The Christian Science Monitor is calling it a "fake" debate.
Ann told Fox News, "[Rosen] should have come to my house when those five boys were causing so much trouble, it wasn’t so easy. My career choice was to be a mother. And I think all of us need to know that we need to respect the choices that women make. Other women make other choices to have a career and raise a family, which I think Hilary Rosen has actually done herself. I respect that, that's wonderful... We have to respect women in all those choices that they make."
But Rosen is sticking to her guns, and responded to the criticism in a CNN editorial: "I have no judgments about women who work outside the home versus women who work in the home raising a family. I admire women who can stay home and raise their kids full time. I even envy them sometimes. It is a wonderful luxury to have the choice. But let's stipulate that it is not a choice that most women have in America today." We're not sure if Hilary Rosen or Ann Romney wins this debate, but that's not really the point. Do you think these kinds of feuds are real -- or just manufactured to get a vote in politics?

Right...The war on women, The war on the Catholic Church, the war on guns, etc...
I am getting really tired of "the war on this" and the "war on that"
it's getting played out!!
Through the lens of cultural relativism, one realizes that the Western concepts of Feminism and Egalitarianism are just as much a subjective cultural construct as any other cultural construct in history. Because of this, the Western feminist and egalitarian’s claim that they represent the bedrock and the forefront of social progress is a subjective judgment at best and, thus, untenable.
It sounds as if they just want to keep most women poor, uneducated, barefoot and pregnant. Husbands should be just as angry about these policies as women because it affects their lives too. Planning a family, a good education, fair pay for equal work should be as important to men as to women.
ELSES' PROBLEM!
THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH THE SUSAN KOMEN FOUNDATION A FEW MONTHS AGO WHEN THEY FOUND OUT THAT THE FUNDING THEY WERE GIVING THEM FOR BREAST EXAMS WAS BEING USED FOR ABORTIONS. NOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND? SECONDLY EVEN IF THEY DID CLOSE, ANYONE WHO CAN'T AFFORD MEDICAL EXAMS OR PROCEDURES GETS THEM AT ANY CLINIC, HOSPITAL OR DOCTOR THROUGH MEDICAID. ALMOST EVERYONE WILL BE ON IT SOONER OR LATER SINCE NO ONE IS WORKING THEY CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR HEALTHCARE. ACTUALLY PP WAS SENDING THEIR CLIENTS TO HOSPTIALS OR CLINICS TO GET MAMMOGRAPHIES BECAUSE THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THAT EQUIPMENT IN THEIR FACILITIES. SO SUSAN KOMEN FOUNDATION WAS BEING
TAKEN OVER THE HURDLES ON THAT ONE.
As for the the taxpayer funding PP, it is the same, Congress declared that taxpayers money would not be funding abortions, yet we give $500 million a year & they are performing abortions as well as distributing contraceptives, which proves they aren't even working because women forget to take them & get pregnant anyway. If you want to choose to be irresponsible in your lifestyle or choices in your life then you have to be responsible for the consequences. Why should everyone else pay for your mistakes. As Obama said very early in his presidency, he
" wouldn't want his daughters to be punished with a baby". Now you have to understand where he's coming from, because his mother found herself pregnant with him at 18 & it messed up her education. He never met his father till he w...&&&&&&

" wouldn't want his daughters to be punished with a baby". Now you have to understand where he's coming from, because his mother found herself pregnant with him at 18 & it messed up her education. He never met his father till he was 10 but his parents were never married nor did they live together. His father had multiple wives at the same time & apparently never took care of his children, he was a womanizer & a drunk & was thrown out of college on immigration violations & sent back to Kenya & eventually killed himself drunk driving & crashed into tree. Obama
& his Mom had a very conflicted relationship which wasa result of his being bounced around to different countries & living situations. He was sernt back to live with his grandparents, had a communist upbringing which took amajor hold on his lifestyle as he has surrounded himself with communists, socialists & Marxists all his life. It has been his main agenda to transform America into that form of government.
Feminists demand free birth control for women, or else declare opposition to be part of the "War On Women", despite ignoring birth control for men, which isn't being demanded or offered.
The opposition to the Violence Against Women Act was called part of the WOW, even though the act quite noticeably left out men, who are the greatest number of violence victims.
War On Women makes a catchy bumper sticker, and fits nicely on a sign, but is flat out wrong. "Curtailing over-privilege" is far more accurate.
The real "war on women" is what is going on in state legislatures all over the country and in congress. THis is just what I could think of off the top of my head, not by any means a comprehensive list:
-Scott Walker's repeal of the fair pay act
-Mandatory insertion of ultrasound wands into the vaginas of women who contemplate abortion in VIrginia and other states
-The proposal that women carry stillborn fetuses to term like livestock do
-The recent law in texas that suggests that women are pregnant four days after their last period -- before conception!
-Personhood laws that say a fertilized egg is a person would make criminals out of birth control users and people wh...

-Personhood laws that say a fertilized egg is a person would make criminals out of birth control users and people who miscarry.
-Multiple states proposing to single out Planned Parenthood for exclusion from
Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement, even though it is the organization where most low income women go for their reproductive health needs. In states like Texas, PP doesn't even do abortions, and they let them close up anyway.
-THe attack on PP, and low income women's health choices, goes on in other states too, with impossible to meet requirements being passed with very short dealines to comply.
- Rick Santorum's assertion that women should not serve in combat and his campaign's assertion that women should not be president.
- Mitt ROmney's assertion that he would cut Planned Parenthood, along with other programs that primarily affect women.
