It seems that in a day in age in which communication has become available instantly and through the internet the ability to obtain all kinds of knowledge at the tip of your fingers that common sense is being thrown out the window and being replaced by sourcing your opinion. Let me tell you what I mean. There is much knowledge that is common sense are easy to argue without the need to retrieve someone else's opinion. One could also make logical arguments without needing a source also, if the connections to the logic were easily made. But currently one cannot have an opinion without a source. If you have an opinion and make your argument you must source it. Even if you mention something that is well known you must source it. Without sourcing it your argument loses credibility. So now we have moved to a day where siting a source whether the source is right or wrong is more important than ones ability to think.

This type of behavior is outlined in Saul Alinsky's 'Rules for Radicals' which is a Prog/Lib handbook for douchbaggery tricks.

The MSM loves to omit facts and replace it with owner bias and uses selective editing to make the slant their own truth.
