So you're right and the Census is wrong, talk about people who DON'T know what they are talking about.

Yes, I was wrong after all. It's 63.7% now.

This is from the website of the Census you linked-

Yeah, still waiting for your proof- you seem to be living in the deluded state that America is 89% white non-hispanic.

Sorry that my life doesn't revolve around answering your questions on sodahead, I do have a life unlike some folks on here. The GOP is actually getting larger, you might want to try using facts to go along with your whining.

The voting population is 80% white. Why wouldn't a politically active group closely mirror that ratio?

Just because they are mostly white does not prove them to be racists. I have attended many tea party events and only once were there no minorities present. That happened to be in a small town with fewer than 15 people present.

And none of the supporters that I know have incomes anywhere near $250K, nor have I observed anyone who appeared to have that kind of income.

And your claim that they "Only surfaced less than a month after our first African American President came into office." is a lie!

No Black Athletes, like football players; that's for sure. Just one Defensive Back in the NFL makes over $250,000 per Quarter . . . And remember now, he doesn't even go out on the field when his team is on Offense. That's surely NOT very "tea partyish" when if comes to average income.

Like many Tea Party supporters, I supported Herman Cain while he was in the presidential race. Not many racists would support a black man no matter what. I don't dislike Obama because he's black. I dislike him because he's an arrogant leftist who is ruining this country. I would dislike him whether he were black, white, yellow, brown or purple with yellow polka dots.
  • VICTORIA Bunk11 2012/06/11 05:22:27

Actually you are sort of proving the point. Are you really pretending that you 're not aware that many teapartyers have been openly racist against African Americas?
Yes, racists would definitely support an easily controlled Uncle Tom sellout like Cain-
although please understand- I am NOT saying you are one.
But it's a very poor argument.

An Uncle Tom sellout? Wow! What a racist comment. Others would look at the son of two poor parents who grew up in the segregationist South and who became the CEO as inspirational, a real Hortatio Alger story come to life. As for the Tea Partyers, I have not come across a single one who was anti-Hispanic - they are all happy to have my wife and kids join them. Nor have I heard any express anti-black comments. There may very well be some, I imagine there are in any crowd. I have to tell you, though, I have heard far more racism and anti-Semitism at left-wing rallies than at Tea Party events. I think it is the left that is racist.

O definitely. But we were discussing the racism against African Americans- and the reactions of some Tea Partyers to the election of our first Black President.
But we've all seen the signs- you know it was an element in Feb,March,April of 2009.
It's also very telling that many Tea Partyers are also birthers.

You're wrong about the left-wing rally thing. I haven't been to any in the past couple of years, but when I was in grad school, there were a number that I had staged right in front of me. I could hardly avoid them, trying to get to class. I even attended a few back when I was in my early 20s. I knew what they were preaching was BS, but I was hoping then to meet some women. I finally decided going to those events wasn't worth it because whatever women I met there weren't worth meeting.

You're 49, and your early 20s occurred 15 years ago?
Ok. I'm guessing you're one of those people that imagine that anyone that criticizes the policies of the Israeli government is an anti-semite then.
I'm sure there are villagers in distant parts that look at your criticism of our president and his policies and think you're a racist.

    Same reasoning- same stupidity.
  • Bunk11 VICTORIA 2012/06/12 03:43:47

No. There were rallies when I was in grad school that I got stuck being around; those were 15 years ago. The ones I voluntarily attended were back in the early-mid 1980s.

Criticizing the policies of the Israeli government is not anti-Semitic - virtually every Jew does that. Objecting to the existence of the state of Israel is anti-Semitic because it would result in the deaths of millions of Jews and perhaps the destruction of Jews as a people. Those who oppose Israel and who support the Palestinians know this.

Those villagers in distant parts would have to be mighty stupid to see my criticisms of Obama on policy grounds and ideology to conclude I'm a racist.

From the info you gave- I couldn't have known that- but it wasn't necessary for you to give a timeline-

I think maybe you should stick to your spheres of knowledge.
Just for fun- find- let's say- 5-
5 paltry examples out of the million members here-

5 conservative Jewish people who have criticized the policies of Israel.

If "virtually every Jew does that" you should come back with - hundreds at least.

I asked for examples. There are more Jews in NY than all of Israel.
Or is it only Jews in Israel that count to you?

So give me the examples where these folks criticize the Israeli government's policies towards the Palestinian people.
  • Bunk11 VICTORIA 2012/06/13 15:13:36
    Bunk11
Well, the list of people I could give you would be people you would never have heard of, because they're friends or acquaintances. Not from NY because I haven't lived there in a while. Incidentally, I don't think you'd like the criticisms of Israeli policy that conservative (politically as opposed to Conservative religiously) Jews have. I think Israel has been way too lenient towards the Palestinians, nearly all of whom support terrorism. I think Israel should expand settlements and expel any Palestinians who support terrorism. Most of the other people I could name have that view. Lots of liberal Jews criticize Israel too, from the left.

You are obviously uninformed about Israel, btw. When I was a kid, it was true that there were more Jews in Brooklyn than Tel Aviv and more in the state of New York than the state of Israel, but NY State's Jewish population is a bit over 2 million and there are 6-7 million Jews in Israel.
  • VICTORIA Bunk11 2012/06/13 15:33:23
    VICTORIA
"Criticizing the policies of the Israeli government is not anti-Semitic - virtually every Jew does that."

And that is all that I do too! Does that make us ALL anti-semites?
You're right, there's AREN'T more Jews in NY than Israel.
I suffered from a lack of incredulity- NY Jews have been telling me that for years, and it never occurred to me to question them!

So, I'll be very clear here.
I support Palestine's right to exist, as I do Israel's.

In your world, if you're on the conservative hawkish side- and you criticize Israel- you're fine.
If you're on the progressive side, and you criticize Israel- you're an anti-semite.

That sort of imbalanced hypocritical application of standards and cries of 'anti-semitism' has worn so thin- that it barely registers any more.
  • Bunk11 VICTORIA 2012/06/20 20:32:52
    Bunk11
There already is a Palestinian state. It is called Jordan. Why do we need another one?

The issue of whether one is an anti-Semite depends clearly on what you are criticizing Israel for doing and whether you support Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state. Given that the Palestinians are committed to destroying Israel and killing almost all the Jews there, it is not possible to be pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian if you are rational. And given that the Palestinians already have a homeland that occupies 2/3 of the Palestine Mandate, it is reasonable to question either the logic or the nature of anyone who supports giving them more land while they still engage in terrorism and rather than denouncing it, consider anyone who engages in it a hero.
