The plant was closed for predominantly technological reasons. Open hearth, forced air plants were being replaced by newer forced oxygen steel mills, mostly in Japan and other Asian countries.

Ever since the Supreme Court legalized buying American elections with their decision in the Citizens United case, Americans have been subjected to a flood of ads from so-called Super PACs. The majority of these ads have been designed to attack President Obama and further the candidacy of Mitt Romney, and numerous ads have been condemned for their inaccuracies, like ads that falsely claim that the President wants to eliminate the work requirements for welfare recipients, false claims that the President wants to restrict military voting, and the Breitbartesque classic, distorting the President's own words to falsely claim that the President does not believe that a business owner built his own business.
There have also been ads coming from Super PACs that support President Obama, though far less in number and far closer to reality. A recent ad which describes the impact Bain Capital's destruction of an American business had on real human beings has been getting a lot of press coverage lately, with the Right Wing Media falsely claiming that the ad accuses Mitt Romney of being responsible for a woman's death.

As for what Bain Capital did to the Steel Plant. Let's give it a REAL NAME not just "the steel plant" IT WAS CALLED GTS STEEL in Kansas City
750 Real People worked there, men, women and their children. A Real Community depended upon that company.
What did Bain Capital do. Well like every other Vulture Capitalistic the first thing they did was Mortage the place to the hilt. Then after they siphoned off that money they raided the retirement and health care funds, sold all the other real assets and the bankrupted the company when there was nothing left to suck out of it.
Bain Capital was just one of many of the owners of the old Armco Steel Plant. Each sucked out what they wanted and left the rest.
The result one of the few USA Steel Plants that made rebar was out of business.
And from his Vulture Capitalistic actions ROMNEY STILL GETS A MULTI MILLION DOLLAR A YEAR RETIREMENT PAYMENT FROM BAIN CAPITAL.

As for Mr Soptic, he has been criticizing Romney for several years now a since BAIN CAPITAL sucked the life out of Armco/GST Steel and bankrupted it, killed the man's wife because Bain Capital raided the Steel Companies health care plan of all it's assets and raided the retirement fund both before declaring bankruptcy.

I agree the ad insinuates that the plant closing is directly responsible for her death, even though her death was 5 years later.
There are enough facts to defeat Romney without having to stretch those facts to make it appear worse than it is.

Obama ran a disgraceful campaign in 2008 against Hillary Clinton and those who endorsed her. The CBC physically threatened Tavis Smiley, Stephanie Tubbs Jones and other black Americans calling them Uncle Tom's, hankerchief heads and other slurs. If that's how he treats his fellow democrats, he has proven with this ad, that there are no boundaries he will not cross to trash Romney.
But the worst thing he has done is to attack average Americans, to lie about taxing them, to lie about ending war when we are in more "military actions" than when he became POTUS, and to ensure that our nation's instability will hurt businesses, leaving America with 5.5 MILLION less jobs than the day he started.
Here is the real Obama, inept, inexperienced and unable to lead the nation. This is why we cannot recover with this POTUS.
