We all see it and some if not most of us are guilty of doing it ourselves. People throw blanket insults like "Lib/ConTard" or "liberalism/conservatism is a mental disorder" constantly and the hate is building at a steady rate. I don't think you can break a person down into just one word, but do you? I'm conservative on many issues but liberal on some so does that make me insane, or just an independent thinker with common sense? We seem to be fighting with ourselves by picking sides and it doesn't really seem like anyone is paying attention to the real issues. It's as if people are picking teams for a dodge ball game, not a political debate. This is my first question here so please take it easy on me if I failed somehow.

- Rebel Yell 2012/07/02 13:54:34You're right, it's not so black and white. If you look at some of the comments, there are people who are incapable of civilized discourse. All they have are insults and labeling and insensitive cartoons. If anyone wants information on real issues, that person needs far more experiences with other sources of information.... not just SODA. This is an opinion forum.reply

- Dan 2012/07/02 07:18:34You're right, it's not so black and white.I'm considered conservative but I've had some people agree with me for all the wrong reasons in all the wrong ways. I've also ran into people who have this knee jerk "labeling" reaction if you disagree with them, no matter how civil. I think your comment was very well written.reply
