A federal appeals court, dealing a defeat to President Obama, has sharply limited the chief executive’s power to bypass the Senate and to make temporary “recess” appointments to fill vacant slots in government agencies.

The Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, in a 3-0 ruling, said the president can make recess appointments only when the Senate has formally adjourned between sessions of Congress, not when lawmakers leave Washington for a brief break.

The Obama administration is almost certain to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court. But if the ruling stands, it strengthens the power of the Senate’s Republican minority at the expense of Obama and the Democrats.

The entire what we refer to as the 'US' is not only broken as in the sense of being a complete farcical fraud, we have a 'government' (more of a sick theater of absurd elitist sociopaths managing our destruction) that is currently spending the wealth of future unfortunate 'citizens' (inmates really and far more literally true than most know, or will admit to knowing) at a rate never before realized in the history of government malfeasance.

The President isn't Almighty God. I am sorry but there is a reason why the Federal appeals court said what it did. Checks and balances of the Power of the Presidency...is one of their main jobs. Obama has completely ignored the constitution since being in office...the problem...isn't wether this was broken or not...the problem is he is still in office.
If him following the constitution was such a big problem..then why is he still in office? I never elected to keep him in. I voted for the other guy..the White dude-Romney.

Obama never used it. He appointed people who would never passed muster by doing so on weekend breaks, etc., NOT when Congress was between sessions. And honestly, unless there is a reason (such as hiding your libtard agenda) there is no reason to appoint someone when Congress can't be involved.

This is exactly why the Supreme Court should be catching holy hell from the entire US population for not overturning every unconstitutional action of both Obama and the Congress. That, after all, is the chief responsibility of the USSC... judicial review to determine the Constitutionality of the actions carried out and all legislation passed by the Congress and the White House.

The confirmation process needs to be a guard against corruption and nepotism - not political cheap shots. It's not about Presidents Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan...ect...
It's about the rule of law, checks and balances and placing party ambition and ideology BELOW the work of the American people.
I have totally lost faith in the political parties.

I'm pretty sure you're being sarcastic, but in case you're being serious, in his first term Obama increased the debt over 50% more than Bush did over 8 years, and at the pace he and the liberal dominated Congress are increasing spending, it will be closing in on $25 trillion by the time he is out of office.

No. Basic constitutional separation of power issue with advice and consent of the Senate. Most laws just have general outlines and all the details are filled in by people in the Executive Dept. When Congress passes a law, such as forming the EPA, and the President appoints people to administer the law who take it way beyond what the original law intended we have a problem. The Senate must confirm appointees and the President should not nominate people with views out of the norm. He should appoint people who can be confirmed by the Senate to administer laws Congress passed.
