Is The Only Thing America Is Getting Good At Is Going Through The Motions Until The Next Tragedy?

Right-wing Americans seem to think that the only proper thing to do is mourn, but are not the least bit interested in solving the problems. It's as if they just can't wait for that next exciting killing spree!

I blame the dumb-ing down the country with substandard conservative leaders. Americans seems to go backwards intellectually; how can folk like Bachman and the rest hold political office. Why does a fat pill popping idiot like Rush L have such a following? It is because a segment of Americans are dumb. We cannot even have a gun control debate without mass hysterical created by the NRA … there is no need for a civilian to have an automatic weapon … civilian need guns for hunting and defending our property, self and family … I don’t think they need a AKA assault weapon to satisfy that need. That is my personal opinion and I wish we could as Americans talk about and come to a compromising solution. Oh no, not in America. We will go through the motions as stated in the article and wait until the next tragedy … continue to do what we always do … and nothing will change … and you know what? That makes me sad.

There are too many nutcases out there with guns that shouldn't have them and others out there with too powerful of ones for their purpose.

More drugs,more drug abuse,more guns more gun abuse.Stricter laws and criteria to obtain a gun and professional courses for dealing with threatening situations when guns are involved for every gun application is needed.Pepper spray,gas pistols and stun guns protect,guns kill.

With the news going into a feeding frenzy I am afraid this is what we are turning in to. They have a saying in the press and I believe it.."IF it bleeds, it leads" I am horrifed at the 24/7 coverage of this.

Me too, I had to switch over to USA network and watch whatever mindless show they have on today.

I agree my friend. I am sick of "Shove it down your throat" coverage. I am sick in my heart that the families of the dead can not even turn on a channel with out this on.

We have gone through this how many times? And still, it will happen again. The gun lobby will never allow Congress to pass restrictive gun laws. I have no problem with handguns for personal protection, rifles for hunting but where I draw the line is at assault type rifles/weapons and those that take clips with multiple rounds that can be shot in rapid succession. No one needs those for recreation. But again, I don't see these kinds of guns being restricted any time soon. I don't know what our love affair with guns is all about but it's got to stop.
