Is the Norquist pledge against taxes realistic?

How does the country pay its bills? Feed, clothe & deploy its military? It's all done through taxation. Doesn't it cost money to pave & maintain streets/highways so manufactured goods can get from point A to point B? They're paid for with TAXES.

If Grover Norquist wants to live like the Ingalls family from Little House on the Prarie-fame, good for him. Let him dig his own well, farm his own land, ride on dirt roads & bring his goods into town on a wooden wagon. As for me, I like having indoor plumbing, hot & cold running water, electricity, a flushing toilet INSIDE the house, paved roads, public transportation & all these other conveniences--most of which came into being because of TAXES!

Any pledge against taxes is unrealistic. The American people will fall for it though because they never can get the idea of paying for stuff requires taxes..

We all know how politians drive through or around laws so pledges are no different!

We are being taxed to death now and need relief.

the government relies on tax dollars to operate. if you are not going to raise taxes you can't increase spending. that's why it made no sense for Bush to start two wars and not raise taxes...

Grover Norquist and Paul Ryan are the two most dangerous men in DC. The Mafia looks like choir boys up against Grover.

It might convince more people that the government does entirely too much.
