Is the loathing of Hillary Clinton justified by actions? No one seems to back up that opinion, but many have it. Why?

I don't like politicians talking SMACK about this country, and those that have served and given their lives in defense of this country.

Her association with President Clinton, I believe, is another factor. The media has such a conservative bias as illustrated by this image of Ms Clinton. Unfortunately, it is difficult for the public to be completely educated on the issues and facts.

MSNBC was the worst offender during the election. Blatant bias on most networks based on things other than the issues at hand.

More than anything, I think that Hillary loathing began as resentment. Her position in the U.S. Senate was won due largely to her role as first lady. Can you imagine the unrest that would occur if Laura Bush tried the same antics?!

I think it is a combination of the first two choices given--gender bias and groupthink. Also, a bit of the third answer in that a lot of Democrats were upset with her vote giving the President the authority to go to war with Iraq. Speaking for myself, I disagreed with her vote but understood why she (along with other Democratic senators) voted that way. However, what is not logical (and is probably related to gender bias) is why she was so criticized for that vote when so many other Democratic senators (e.g. Vice President-Elect Joe Biden) voted for the Iraq War authority and were not criticized so vehemently.

The uncritical, mid-brain, visceral hatred that is expressed by a surprising number of people is clearly the result of deliberate manipulation of the unsophisticated by the devious.

It is very sad. Hillary, though imperfect, (aren't we all) is well-intentioned and works hard.

Hilary was part of the leadership of the DLC, that tried (and succeeded) to co-opt Democratic Party policies to lure Republicans into supporting Republicrat candidates (candidates who were nominally Democrats, but voted with the Republicans more often than not). The DLC, as much as anyone, is responsible for the deregulation that has led to the current economic mess, as well as the mess we're in with the Iraq war.

Once she was a presidential candidate, Hilary's rhetoric shifted sharply to the left. All of a sudden, she was a tried and true Democrat who was violatently opposed to the Republican policies she had recently tried to shove under the Democratics Party tent. It's that kind of hypocrisy (and Barak, while not as bad, is guilty of it too) that causes my distrust and dislike of her. We absolutely do not need another four or eight years of DLC-sponsored "Clintonism".

I would support Hillary the same as I now support Barack. However, now that Barack is the Democratic presidential nominee, it is important to keep Democratic Senators in the Senate! (I would have chosen GEN Wes Clark for VP for that reason).

I still don't understand this either. I've heard various theories, but no consensus, and none of it really makes good sense to me. My sentiments are pretty close to crsone's.

The Lasting Results of the whole Arkansas Project created and funded by Right wing enemies of Bill and Hillary Clinton!
The money made by slandering the Clintons was and still is monumental
And gave us the likes of Rush, Coulter, Goldberg, Olson, Malkin,Hannity and their ilk.... who have made their careers on attacking the Clintonsl (and FOX)
Most people believe the 10 second sound bite that passes for news these days!

Seems that the "loathing" comes more from the conservative leaders and followers who resented everything about the Clintons. She sure had a shining admirable moment in the limelight with her convention speech supporting Obama. Good for her!

I think there areperfectly good reasons for mistrusting Hillary because of her voting record. While I could never support her wholly, to hate her is excessive.

It's the first two, gender and media looking for ratings. She scares the daylights out of sexist males. We still have a lot of women who ask their husbands what to do or think. I think the primaries were a good measure of gender bias vs. racism. Both remain very strong. Look at Congress and the White House, mostly rich white guys. They should have about 20% poor and homeless people and 2% millionaires.

Her win-at-all-costs attitude turned me off a long time ago. If you can't win the nomination on your own merits and have to sling mud to distract the electorate, you don't deserve to be the nominee.
