Is the life of Neil Armstrong getting enough attention?

One of our finest, smartest citizens has died and yet I saw one 30 second mention of him. No wonder our youth are few in number who will make us as proud as Neil Armstrong. We had endless days of a rock star death and a singer's death last year. Unbelievable and sad. More medical breakthroughs came from the space exploration rprograms and yet we have stopped funding it so that more dopes can get public assistance.

He's probably the one person from our time that will be most remembered by history - he was after all the first person ever to step foot on another world.

He deserves not only attention, but a state funeral.

Granted he didn't invent space travel, but he was the first to go where no man had EVER been. And many kids don't even know his name. Sad. And it shows a skewed sense of priorities and values.

I know. How can we get our priorities back on track? I would say, parents and teachers, but alas, they do not seem up to the job anymore.

It takes both parents working two jobs (each) to pay for the roof over their kids’ heads and put food on the table now days. Not to mention the price of gas, and other necessities to keep a home. Try to make a living and save for college in this economy. There is NO such thing as job security any more either, unless your in the hospitality business.

That does not mean the parents, if they decided to have children, cannot teach their kids what is important in life and what to reach for and who to admire.

It seems reality tv is so much more important right now, absolutely disgusting.

I just wrote to my two senators and congressman and asked why Neil Armstrong is being ignored and how shameful I think it is.

Thank you. Maybe if we all did it, we might get somewhere. Not sure.

This is the kind of man who should get days of coverage, not some deadbeat rock singer.
