Okay, I just want to talk about shame deflection for a bit. Now, bear with me, as I'm going to use specific examples from comments I've read throughout this post, but in no way am I trying to point out one race or group, as I've seen this exact type of thinking in people of every color or creed.
In one comment it was voiced that white people of today should not be held accountable for the actions of their ancestors and the horrific crimes of slavery (not to mention Jim Crow and all the rest of the silliness (to say the least) that still occurs today), yet within the same few comments I saw something to the effect of "OUR laudable intentions and actions get thrown back in OUR faces" and "WE tried to help with affirmative action but it's biting US in the butt." Ummm, granted, there are folks who marched for change, who are actively working for positive change in our country, but what REALLY have you (personally Universal YOU) done to be able to deflect our societal ills while simultaneously thinking you deserve a parade for the good that has been done historically? You don't get to say "What my ancestors did was bad, but I didn't do that!" and at the same time ride the coattails of great people who've really worked for change just because your skin color is the same as theirs. ...

It's our OBLIGATION to work with and try to fix the society we have, which INCLUDES BY NECESSITY understanding and ACCEPTING the past for all the good AND the bad, and understanding our part in the perpetuation, creation or dissolution of both. That goes for whites, blacks, purples, stripes...whatever. All of us play an active role in the bad and the good, accept it, or become part of the problem. I myself find this a hard pill to swallow, but honestly, think about it. Opinions, while commendable, are simply opinions. Faith without works, and all that rot. If I saw a person on the street being assaulted and said "THIS IS WRONG!" and then went home still thinking it was wrong.....whoopee for me. Did I help though? Do I get to claim that "WE'VE" done something for the city's crime problem? No, I didn't do anything! I'm SUPPOSED to think assualting someone is wrong, you're SUPPOSED to think racism is wrong, YOU"RE SUPPOSED TO TREAT PEOPLE EQUALLY, and you don't get ribbons and bows for things you're supposed to do! You get lauded for what you ACTUALLY DO. I am glad there are people who want everyone to be treated equally and it is WONDERFUL and commendable, but if we don't start accepting what has happened, we can't accurately pinpoint what NEEDS to be done... Some folks take it too far, and blaming every person you see for your problems is wrong, but denying what has happened and how you can be a part of the solution is wrong as well.
If you support mass immigration and “assimilation” for all White countries and ONLY White countries, you are an anti-White.
If you say the continued existence of White children is “irrelevant” and should not be defended from policies that will lead to their extinction as a group, you are an anti-White.
If you insist White people are not allowed to have their own countries and self determination like non-Whites have in non-White countries, you are an anti-White.
You know, I listened to the Martin's attorney speak yesterday about Trayvon and George and justice, and I don't think I heard him say black or white one time. I am not alone in wanting to put skin color where it belongs, in the same category as hair and eye color, and not as the basis of who we are.
I have no doubt that those black people who like to make a noise about racism are themselves racist, they are very proud about black power, black unions, black awards, black communities, black newspapers, black history month and so on.
I agree,,to this statement..."When people segregate themselves and others by color, it's racism. That's all I have to say about that."....also,give me a frickn break here,,,I grew up in a segregated tiny town,,& I didnt agree with the politics of the "color crap thing" but damm, we should have progressed enough since I was a little one..but NOPE...& I have moved from that tiny town and since moved to a mostly populated african american area in VA...lg city and run by african americans...they have been largely been jerks all the way around..from sevice calls in person, to the school system..to just walking in the park...most have their own veiws now on the "whites"..which by the way, I am native american...for the exception of the "older" americans in general...Everyone has lost RESPECT for everyone & think that ""They"" deserve better treatment WITHOUT DESERVING decent BEHAVIOR. I believe everyone should get it together...get over the COLOR of your own skin and move on......as for true racism..now......it is just lowlife adults neglectly their own children & leaving them to strangers to raise while they "whatever color" they maybe take care of the kids, & others just let them run the streets....but thats just a sma;; town girl, moved to the big town has seen......I say take the time, get your ass in gear and see to your own babies and not your own needs.....GROW UP!! I dont care what color you are...be responsible for your own!!!!!!
I would say that Blacks may be defensively racist because they are shunned, attacked or in other ways treated negatively. This will cause them to group together for protection.
Also, if a group is kept from financial advancement then they will tend to live in the poor areas.
That we see Blacks as racist is a WHITE fingerprint of how whites have treated them over the decades previous.
Only recently are Blacks given anything close to equality of opportunity. I think we can wish them well and continue to improve the relations between all races as we work for progress for all races.
I long for the day when the need to distinguish in any way race, colour, creed, national origin, sexual preference, etc... but, I know I will not live to see the day...
With that said, your post singles out black people... rather than any race/colour in general... are black folks the only people guilty of racism??? hell NO, not even close... that fact goes without saying... and not all blacks people are guilty, either...
And, another point: There is a HUGE difference between having and showing pride in your race/colour/nationality and being prejudiced/racist ... There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with having and showing pride in your ancestry, your colour/race, etc... Just be careful not to cross the line to the point of racism...
There are white racists (cut the sh** out, you're giving ME a bad name!)
There are black racists
There Asian racists
There are Indian (East) racists
There are Indian (Native American) racists
The list goes on endlessly.... there are racists in EVERY race/colour, etc. But, NOT ALL of every race/colour are racist...
And, the idea that any race of people of today owe any other race of people today for something that happened 100, 150, 200 (or more) years ago is wrong... For example, white folks now do n...
OK... duly noted...
And true to a point...

I'm not guilty of what happened back then and shouldn't be treated as such... In fact, my ancestors aren't even guilty of it... My own grandparents weren't even in this country at the time... And I was a baby when segregation, etc were on their way out finally...
My own motto, ethos, whatever you choose to cal it: I don't care what colour, what race, what nationality, what gender/gender preference, what sexual preference, etc. you are... I don't care if you're yellow and blue with pink and purple polka dots... It's WHO YOU ARE AS A PERSON that matters to me... However, I do reserve the right to decide if, who you are as a person, is someone I choose to associate with...BIG difference...
A lot more can be said here, but I'll get off my white, Anglo, Honkie soap box... (don't take offense, anyone, I'm just cracking a joke...)
And, in my long-winded reply to the post, I meant to add that people like Al Sharpton, while looking out for the best interest of the people, crosses the line into racism (wrongfully named "reverse racism", because racism is racism is racism)...
I will agree, that a long time ago Al Sharpton while his heart was in the right place could've had better methods, he actually talked about his evolution as a civil rights leader from where he was years ago and his regrets, to where he is presently. As a member of the National Action Network, the one thing I love is that everyone is invited to the table and Rev. Sharpton as well as the Rev. Jackson with the Rainbow Push coalition feels that everyone of every race, color, creed, and religion have some positive to offer and contribute. I really like that philosophy. We're all fellow human beings. As I'm sure you see around this site conservatives delegitimize and dehumanize another human being based solely on their skin color and often religion. That's just sick and wrong.
I wish people of any race/colour wouldn't do that sort of thing...
It should not matter if a "black" family moves into a predominantly "white" neighborhood... that family should be greeted with open arms and welcomed... ok, that's a bit strong, because not even white families are usually welcomed into a neighborhood like that... the days of Little House on the Prairie and what used to be called "welcome wagons" are long gone... LOL..
But reality, unfortunately, has it that that's just not the case and it's a damned shame...
But, let me assure you, if mine was that white family, and your black family moved in next door to me, I would be making the first move to shake your hand and introduce myself to you and yours... and get to know you as a person and as a family and then and only then after getting to know you, would I decide, based only on you as a human being, if you are someone I choose to associate with... and would respect your right to do the same...
Either way, you wouldn't be the "black family next door"... you'd be the "family next door" PERIOD...
tired of the racism or just tired of talking about it? i'm tired of it, and that's why i'm talking about it. i want to get racism out in the open where it belongs, where we can all see how ugly it is. Marion Barry's remarks about getting rid of asian people and replacing them with "our own people" is as ugly and racist a comment I have seen and he still has a seat on a DC city council. Why is that? Why are we letting him get away with it and why are we not blasting his supporters for supporting his obvious racism?
I hear what you're saying my friend, but alas it won't be fixed by throwing in more knives. I'm tired of racism AND talking about it, because it's all a never-ending circle of finger-pointing. Some of it is justified, some isn't, but even if it's justified it's not helping. The least we can do is not stoop to their level, just ignore their bs, point it out individually if necessary, but making a poll about it just stirs the pot even more.
But, as I said in my original replay, in this very post, you're singling out black people... like they're the only ones guilty of being racist... and when you put it as simple as you did, with your limited options for responses, and put that together with the Black Power insignia, you're inferring racism and openly bluuring the line between actual racism and pride.., there's a huge difference between pride and racism.... and you should and need to be careful NOT to cross the line into stereotyping... that's equally as bad... to say or infer "they're ALL that way" is wrong...
I have several black co-workers and employees... Yeah, they do have pride in their race/colour... but, they're some of the best people I know.... they don't treat me different because I'm not of their colour.. again, they do have pride... and they do show it...
I don't know too much about Barry... But I am more concerned with the Al Sharpton's even more so than the Jesse Jackson's... however, the fact that Sharpton is still more outspoken than Jackson doesn't diminish the fact that Jackson isn't still a concern...
I agree with the intent that they portray... they portray that they are doing what they do in the interest of equality as it should be... but, definitely in the case of Al Sharpton, he crosses the line way too far and way too much and commits the very thing he is fighting against... racism... his is simply against a different colour/race...
I mention Sharpton as a "concern"... don't misinterpret that... I am just as concerned and outraged by the "white" folks who are racist, who are sexist... who are intolerant of any race, colour, nationality, gender/gender preference, and sexual preference... These people give ME a bad name...
