Yes Americans are civilly less informed, but the bigger problem is many Americans have become so fed up with Washington, and the political doom and gloomers that they just don't care anymore. Primary election here had a less then 10% turnout and I do not see a major surge coming in November. Less then 45% will decide the next President

Voters are seemingly more interested in Romney's dog on roof story or Joe Biden's gaffes. Of course, the hyper media promotes that non stop. But it's clear most voters do not know or care about the most pressing issues at hand. Right now, Medicare is again front and center. There is much difference between Romney/Ryan's plans and Obama's. Most people aren't interested in that, as sad as it is. They are more interested in what Michelle Obama wore at the Olympics.

The weight part of the cartoon; too much soy in the diet. but back to the question...we have people that when questioned; don't know who the VP is; some can't tell you the three branches of government; or simple questions every voter should know

All one has to do is to look at the polls. Obama as much damage as he has done to this country still has at least 40% of the voting population on his side. Thats allot of dumb people even given the fact that 1/2 of illegal votes.
